On Friday the 5th December 60 students received Hospitality and English as a second language certificates at a ceremony held at complex. The certificates were presented by Mr Khalil Eideh, MLC, and Member for Western Metropolitan. A recipe book created by a group of ESL students was also launched. Called “Tastes of Memory” it contains recipes and stories from a variety of different culture backgrounds. Copies of the recipe book are available for $10.00 from the Laverton Community Education Centre. Phone enquiries 9369 2726 Around Laverton AGM will be on the 20th of April 2009. LOCALS COLLECT FOR BUSHFIRE VICTIMS The local re-action to help with fund raising for the bushfire victims has been amazing. So many groups and individuals have been involved. It is great to see such a community backing at such a bad time in people and animals lives.
