9th Annual

Aroos Magazine Bridal & Event Expo This year’s 9th Annual Aroos Magazine Bridal & EventExpo on the afernoon of Feb. 19 was a study in spectacle. The overall ambience, compared to previous shows, was as though you were walking into an A-list wedding reception — tables beckoned, bedecked in gorgeous floral arrangements and surrounded by artfully draped chairs; violinists held sway over enraptured impromptu audiences; and delectable cake and candy samples disappeared as fast as they were put out. The show, featuring 50 of the top event vendors in Southern California, bedazzled around 1,000 visitors. We are eternally beholden to our markeing sponsors: Mr.Shahram Rahimian of Rahimian Management, Mr.Mojtabi Shahriari of Mission Ranch Market, Distinct Law Group& Mr.Mike Jafari of Metro I Pages.

How to prepare for one of the most important day of your life By: Angie Sadeghi, MD

I often see mothers and daughters so excited about this

upcoming event and they are really looking forward to this special day in their life. At the same time, there are also a lot of stressful days that are coming as we prepare for the, “big day”. This beautiful day that you imagine in your mind can really take a toll on people when they are trying to figure out how to make it, “perfect”. Naturally, everyone from the bride, bride’s maids, mother, mother-in-law, to even the father, will want to look and feel there best while in front of all the most important people in their lives. Whether you’re the one trying on the dress or the tuxedo, people usually want to have their waistline be as small as possible. It seems that there’s never enough time to drop the weight in time for the fitting for our wedding day clothes. I decided to try to help out with this difficult time by developing a strategy to help people get through that time without all the difficulty so they can truly have this day be everything they dreamed of. I call it, “The Doctor Angie Bridal Transformation Plan”. My first secret weapon is called Coolsculpting. This technology was developed to be used as a body contouring tool and I find it works quite well if used properly by a skilled technician. It’s easy to do and non-invasive so there’s no down time what-so-ever. Usually, after a few treatments, a fairly significant change can occur. For some, it’s the waistline, for others it’s the arms. Whatever your troublesome area is, we can usually address the issue very quickly since time is often part of the issue. Depending on the age of the person I’m working on, I often get involved with treating some fine lines in the skin on the face with neurotoxins. Neurotoxins produce a rapid transformation that is easy to do. Usually takes one appointment and in less than an hour the magic has taken place. Over the next week after the treatment, the fine lines are usually a memory. Dermal fillers are also a big part of my arsenal. We frequently add filler to produce more lip volume, volume in the cheeks, also under the eyes. It is nothing short of amazing to see how someone can be helped to look their best with these minor procedures. 54 i Spring / Summer 2017 • Aroos Magazine • aroosmagazine.com

Weight loss is frequently also on the wish list. Although Coolsculpting is great for body contouring, people usually also want to shed an extra ten to fifteen pounds as well. I developed a strategy that proves to be very easy to achieve that goal without a bunch of difficult rules about lifestyle. Once again, time is often limited in these situations so I need to use things that work quickly and they are also easy, yet safe, to do. The typical result is that we end up achieving our weight loss goal with ease. If the weight loss goals are over the ten to fifteen pounds as previously discussed, that is a little harder to accomplish without adding in other tools. One of the tools is called the Orbera ballon, the ballon is a fantastic tool for helping a person achieve a more significant weight loss goal rapidly. Basically, the ballon goes into a person’s stomach and helps a person feel full when smaller portions of food are consumed. A few months later, the ballon is removed and I resort to creating a great long term plan to keep the weight from coming back again. I’m all about lasting change in life. I want to create a rapid change but I also want to use healthy strategies to maintain the goal once it’s been achieved.

My first secret weapon is called Coolsculpting ! Another one of my tools used in the Dr. Angie Bridal Transformation Plan is a bio-identical hormone optimization plan. This is what I use to make sure we get long term maintenance when we get people where they want to be with their goals. If we don’t optimize hormones, we can’t really plan on long term success. We want to achieve lasting results so the hormone program is a great tool to get the metabolism back to a much more desirable rate. I often find that people may have never really had very good hormonal balance before my optimization program. Usually with a few minor adjustments to thyroid function and a few other hormones, I find people are shocked to see their bodies starting to work better than they have experienced since their teens. With energy levels restored and people sleeping well, it makes the quality of life improve dramatically. Therefore, a good overall plan includes Coolsculpting to treat the stubborn fat, dermal fillers to enhance cheeks and lips, Orbera Balloon to lose weight, and neuromodulators to smooth out the fine lines. Get ready to be picture perfect! 2121 E.Coast Hwy #120 Corona Del Mar , CA 92625 949.430.0789 Spring / Summer 2017•

Q&A DEEJAY AL

1-What’s the history of your company? I “Deejay Al” started djing in 2003 and as of 2004, I could no longer service all my wedding clientele by myself so I’ve been blessed to have an amazing team of DJ’s and talented lighting and sound operators which work with me under one umbrella called “Ambyx Productions” 2-What made you personally want to go into the Disc jockey / Entertainment business? Ever since I was 13 years old, I was into music. I would make “Mixtapes” with real tapes and would be the person that provided music for all of my family / friend’s gatherings. I was introduced to DJing when I rst moved to the U.S. in 2003. Djing became by my life. My denition of fun was to stay in my room for hours every single day and teach myself how to DJ. I’d challenge myself to make every transition smoother than the one before. After seeing the crowd reaction to my music at a college event at UCSD in Oct 2003 the idea of me being a full time DJ sparked in my head and the rest has been history. 3-Do you work with all budgets, or do you specialize in high-end events? I truly believe in doing everything the “right” way and in order to do that, like any other professional business you will end up with a big overhead. As entertainment is my full time job, I’m obligated to rm prices on Saturday’s however, I make sure to be 100% dedicated to my craft and bring clients the “wedding of their dreams”. Sundays-Fridays I can be a bit more exible on rates. I picture every wedding as my own and would never want to take the risk of not having a great party just save to some money. Even if the budget doesn’t workout with myself personally I do have an amazing group of talented DJ’s who don’t have the overhead that I have therefore, I can help any client get a DJ that still provides the best music and energy but still exible with the client as I understand almost everyone has a budget set for every piece of their wedding. 4-What’s your personal songs aesthetic? I personally love any song that makes people move. However, what I personally like myself might not be the best for someone else’s party, When I’m not Djing I listen to a lot of Persian dance music and American hip hop in my car. 5-What are some of your favorite Songs and music ideas? I look at all types of music as one genre really, especially nowadays with music genres mixing together all around the world. For example, Kendrick Lamar who is very much a “Hip Hop” artist doing songs with Taylor Swift who is very much a “Pop”. To me good music is good music and if it makes people dance then there is a good chance you will hear it in my mixes on Radio Javan or iHeart Radio’s Jam’n 95.7FM. Photo Provided by : Deejay AL

62 i Spring / Summer 2017 • Aroos Magazine • aroosmagazine.com

I truly believe in doing everything the "RIGHT" way! 6-Could you describe what services you provide (in addition to just creating the music) Disc Jockey? My company provides the latest in lighting, visuals and musicians. I think presentation is just as important as the DJ’s music as it adds such a strong element to an event. I make sure to have the right sta and place them where they are the strongest. For example, you will never see me program lighting myself as that’s my other sta’s strong suit. 7-What was one of your most memorable weddings/Events , and what made it special? I love events that are challenging for me because it pushes me to expand my knowledge on things that I’m not familiar with, however if it is out of my range I have no problem being honest with clients and let them know I’m not their best choice. I’d hate not to deliver what the client is looking for. Every event I do is special to me. I strive to make every event memorable for the client and their guests. Djing large music festivals with over 15K attendees are some of my most memorable events. 8-What makes you stand out from your competitors? I take pride in my brand and my DJing skill. I wouldn’t even know how to explain this without sounding conceded but I will put this way, at the age of 27 I’ve been blessed to have 8 years of Radio experience in the Top40 FM radio world and being the only Iranian DJ on world’s largest radio broadcasting company called “iHeart Radio” in addition to that, being one of the main DJ’s on Radio Javan (Biggest Persian entertainment outlet in the world) for over 9 years. The only way to make yourself stand out from your competitors is to make moves that makes everyone talk about it and make it so people of all demographics can’t avoid you no matter the race and age. I’ve made it so you can’t avoid me even if you wanted to. When you go on social media you see events and yers with “Deejay Al” on there, you turn your TV on you see ads or shows running with “Deejay Al” on there. You turn your Radio on you hear me, you get in your car you have my CDs or podcasts playing, you go to concerts you see me performing, you open the magazines you see me, and most importantly you ask your friends who you should hire as your DJ, chances are they will say “Deejay Al”. I must say this hasn’t happened over night. Hours, days and years of hard work and dedication has been put into my craft and brand and I hope that YOU can experience this for yourself one day either at your own event or as a guest of someone else’. 9-What’s your Entertainment advice for brides on a budget? A- Hire someone that you feel some sort of a connection with and if you can see yourself being friends with person, hence you can trust them running your party then that person is a good t for your party B- Dedicated a good amount of budget to your entertainment / DJ as this is a “make it or break it” element to your wedding. C- Believe in the talent that you’re booking and give them an idea of what you’re looking for but trust them and give them good amount of freedom to do their part. D- Try and book people that you have seen before yourself or come strongly recommended from multiplesources. E- Let your talent know what could’ve been your other options so they get excited and want to outshine the other options so they go the extra step to impress you. 10-What are your future plans? I am in this business because I truly LOVE what I do and I’m here to stay for as long as I can so my only future plan is to stay relevant and keep up with time as entertainment industry is probably the fastest moving industry and if you slip and fall its hard to get up and run again.

I always had much love for music and enjoyed making people happy! 6-What was one of your most memorable weddings/Events , and what made it special? All the weddings that I have been a part of have been memorable to me for dierent reasons. All my clients are special. There is no dierence to me whether I have a high-end wedding or a wedding that is working with a lower budget. I am helping two people start their lives together and for that reason this makes it the most memorable day for me. 7-What makes you stand out from your competitors? I don't compare myself with my competitors because I love what I do and I always give 110% in my work and that makes me stand out with my clients, which results in many referrals. 8-What’s your Entertainment advice for brides on a budget? Most people spend most their budget on everything else but when it gets to their entertainment they are at the end of their budget. Remember the energy at your wedding is created by your entertainment. If you try to cut around your entertainment budget by hiring DJ's that are not professionals then chances of your wedding ending early or guests not enjoying the music will be greater than if you were to hire a professional. My job is to evaluate the crowd and know when to change the music. My job also is to match and mix songs so that you'll have nonstop dancing. Just like every profession, the more experience your DJ has, the better he can control your event. Please don't cut your DJ's budget when you know he is worth it!!!!!!! Book your venue and DJ rst then make sure that you'llhave a great wedding planner and photographer to make your memories last forever. 9-What are your future plans? We are working on making our company bigger and greater everyday. We are also working on expanding our company to other states and countries. Excellent Entertainment

6-Could you describe what services you provide, in addition to just creating the music) Disc Jockey? We provide professional Djs, Day of wedding coordination, Musicians, Sounds, Emcee, Lighting, Projector & Screen in Southern CA from San Diego to Ventura Counties. Clients can choose to hire any number of musicians such as Percussionist or drummers, Violinist or Saxophonist alongside the DJ. 7-What was one of your most memorable weddings/Events , and what made it special? They are all truly memorable and special in some form or way. On May 22nd 2010 I was invited to Cabo, Mexico to the beautiful destination wedding of dear Arezou and Rubin and I was able to meet and get to know the couple and their beautiful family even more. We had an amazing time and I even performed for Arezou's sister wedding Shabnam and David a year later at Richard Nixon presidential Library as they are one of my dear friends now. 8-What makes you stand out from your competitors? We simply deliver what we promise, always show up to the wedding with out sending a last-minute replacement DJ and professionally dress and most importantly do not drink alcohol to stay sober all the way through, ‌ EASY!!! 9-What’s your Entertainment advice for brides on a budget? Honestly after the bride's dress, the music and the Photo Video matters the most as what remains after the wedding is a great high energy music and a talented photo and video person who captures all the right moments. My suggestion is to hire a really good and professional DJ first and look for off season months and dates to book your venue to save some money. 10-What are your future plans? We are working on some additional great entertainment services which will be introduced to the market soon.
