NESTING x INTERSECTION
CRITIC: ADAM DAYEM DIGITAL CONSTRUCTS 1 FALL 2021
Complex design can be generated from simple geometry and often requires it as a starting point. This project guides one through this process, starting with a simple assembly of nested boxes and ending with a complex composition exploring the relationship between figure and field.

Axonometric drawings were manually created based off a physical model. These were related using a projection system. Placing these elements close together is the first instance where a sense of density and complexity is introduced, and a new drawing starts to emerge from its components. Transforming the arrangement of nested boxes and intersecting them at various scales adds the second layer of complexity. Layering simple renders of these objects on each other adds the final layer of complexity to the project, producing a drawing that looks entirely unlike its original components.
