SUBJECT: Invitation to submit offers for the MSA Arabic translation and layout of “EPANET and Development. How to calculate water networks by computer” book 1. Scope of works The scope of the work is the translation from English into MSA Arabic of the 2nd edition of the following book: “EPANET and Development. How to calculate water networks by computer” by Santiago Arnalich with an approximate total of 32500 words. It includes the translation of all the elements in the book, the proof reading, and the simple layout within the word document to produce a pdf compatible with on demand publishing platforms (specifically Kindle Direct Publishing). 2. General instructions Bidders should submit their offers via email to publicaciones@arnalich.com before October 15th 2020. The offer should include a cover letter, cv, samples of previous translation or published work (i.e. articles), and an economic offer with a final lumpsum for the complete works (all costs and taxes already included). The deadline for the final deliverable is November 15th 2020. Terms and conditions The nature of this work is strictly time-bound. Only complete a definitive translation delivered within the deadline with the adequate quality and meeting the specifications stated under article 1 will be paid. A first draft translation of chapter 4 will be handed over during the first 10 days for quality evaluation. Quality will be evaluated by having Arab-speaking industry professionals rate the translation from 0 (worst) to 10 (best). Translations with an average rating below 4 will be discarded. Translations below 6 are allowed to continue if correction and improvement measures are taken. All amendments and errors found in the Arabic version are to be corrected free of charge for a period of six months after the deadline. The translator will not store nor distribute by any means any of the contents of the translation other than the strictly necessary for carrying out the work. Special care should be taken not to release preliminary versions that may coexist with the definitive document. 4. Arbitration In the event of a dispute or disagreement concerning the works and the interpretation of any of the terms herein, it shall be referred to a sole Arbitrator, to be nominated by mutual consent by the parties. All disputes are subject to the courts of Vélez-Rubio, Almería, Spain.
