We are extremely excited to provide a top-notch day-camp experience for your family this summer. We are dedicated to going above and beyond in providing the level of customer service and program quality that sets the AMA YMCA apart.

We want you to know that you can count on the AMA YMCA to provide fun and enriching programs that will allow us to be a home away from home for your children this summer.

This guide has been designed to help you map out how you and your children can have a GREAT SUMMER! You will find descriptions of all of our Specialty Camps, exciting Traditional Camp, Summer Sports, Swim, Enrichment and more. This is going to be a summer in which your child makes new friends, tries new things, and feels a sense of belonging and accomplishment.

The Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA has been offering summer camp for more than 20 years and we never stop investing in our program to make it better than ever before. A core belief that drives us is that every young person is a unique individual with his/her own rate of development. Because of this, we seek to introduce all campers to as many new experiences as possible in order to help every child feel confident and secure in a camp environment that is safe and fun. The end goal is that each child grows in imagination, creativity, self-directed initiative, and leadership. We believe that YMCA Day Camps provide the environment to do just that.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR CHILD’S SUMMER Our summer camp experience is as unique as your child.

You can create a customized experience for your child to give them a summer they will never forget!

STEP 1: CUSTOMIZE!

Based on the age of your child, look over the camp descriptions and get your kids excited about all the possibilities! For a full view of camp see page 8.

STEP 2: CHOOSE CAMP WEEK-BY-WEEK You can pick and choose which weeks and what camps you want your child to attend.

STEP 3: REGISTER! Registration ends the Thursday prior to each camp week.

Once registered, you will receive an email with a health form to complete for each child you registered. You must complete the form prior to your child arriving for camp. Then each week, you will receive an email with camp-specific information. Still have questions?

Drop-Off between 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM Camp hours are from 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM Pick-Up between 4:00 PM - 6:30 PM

CANCELLATION POLICY We understand circumstances change and that you may need to revisit your camp options. Cancellations must be requested one week prior to the start of the week of care. No refunds will be allowed if requested less than one week and deposits are not refundable or transferable to other weeks.

Cancellations must be in writing and sent to ymcachildcare@amaymca.org.

Cancellations will not be accepted in person or over the phone.

OUR CAMPS WHAT ARE TRADITIONAL CAMPS?

In these camps, your children will experience adventure on a whole new level. Your campers will build self-confidence and meet new friends. While at camp, your children will experience activities like sports clinics, science experiments, arts and crafts, and much more. Each day, campers will be divided into small groups by age, and will participate in activities appropriate to the interests and needs of their group. Campers will also swim in the outdoor pool throughout the week.

TRADITIONAL CAMPS Ages 4-12 • $145 Member/$205 Non-Member Participant In these camps, your children will experience adventure on a whole new level. SPECIALTY CAMPS ANIMAL EXPLORERS

Ages 6-12 • $169/$229 Week 1, 8 • Central YMCA It’s time for your camper to discover the animal kingdom — hands-on, up close and personal!

This adventurous camp will participate in animal games, crafts and have on-site animal experiences.

ARTFUL ANTICS

Ages 6-12 • $169/$229 Week 2, 9 • Central YMCA Your young Picasso will use a variety of creative techniques to create masterpieces and memories.

Campers will also enjoy traditional camp activities such as swimming, games and songs.

BASKETBALL CAMP

Ages 7-12 • $169/$229 Week 4 • Central YMCA Your camper could learn to be the next big NBA star with this fundamental sports week. Daily activities include instruction in dribbling, passing, shooting and positioning.

YMCA basketball camp is for young athletes looking to build fundamental skills and have fun.

CAMP H20

Ages 7-12 • $169/$229 Week 3 • Central YMCA Each day campers will participate in a variety of water games, have water inflatable play and extended pool time. This camp will also include daily instruction from our YMCA certified swim lesson instructors and a trip to a local waterpark.

CHEER CAMP

Ages 7-12 • $169/$229 Week 7 • Central YMCA Two, four, six, eight! Our Cheer Camp is really GREAT!!! Calling all cheerleaders! Come smile, bounce, jump and dance your way through cheer instruction and a choreographed cheer routine. This camp proves to be full of spirit and teamwork for the ultimate dance experience. The squad will end their week with a final performance to showcase their talents.

GAMERZ

Ages 7-12 • $169/$229 Week 5 • Central YMCA If you are into arcade games, video games or interactive game play this camp is for you! From Beyblade battles to Pokémon wars, this gaming camp will provide hours of challenge and fun!

LEGO EXTREME

Ages 6-12 • $169/$229 Week 4 • Central YMCA This intense LEGO-building camp is for the extreme LEGO camper.

Campers will learn how to craft, build and construct different LEGO structures through exciting games and instruction. Young builders will also have the opportunity to use their imagination to create their own structures and masterpieces. On Friday, campers will end the week with the ultimate trip to LEGOLAND!

MUNCHING ON STEM

Ages 6-12 • $169/$229 Week 11 • Central YMCA This innovative camp will combine cooking and science to create one power-packed experience. Campers will create edible structures, design edible cars, and learn about multiple scientific processes.

Munchin’ on STEM is a fun and delicious way to introduce your camper to the world of science!

SPECIALTY CAMPS RADICAL REPTILES

Ages 6-12 • $169/$229 Week 7 • Central YMCA Your camper will meet and greet a variety of reptiles such as snakes, frogs, tortoises, turtles, lizards, bugs and other creepy-crawlies! Campers will also participate in fun reptile-inspired art projects, games and activities. If you like these cold-blooded creatures, this camp is definitely for you!

SIX FLAGS CAMP

Ages 9-12 • $239/$289 Week 2, 4, 6, 7, 11 • Central YMCA If your teen loves Six Flags, then this is the camp for you! The rush of roller coasters and splash of water slides are sure to be the highlights. Teens will visit Six Flags or Hurricane Harbor daily, taking in the best of the parks throughout the week. From Pandemonium to the Texas Giant to Batman, this camp is sure to thrill!

SPLASH

Ages 7-12 • $169/$229 Week 10 • Central YMCA This wet, wild, and fun camp is sure to keep your little fishes busy.

Campers will enjoy a fun-filled, 30-minute jam-packed swimming instructions with outstanding YMCA certified instructors, followed by an extended swim time full of splishing and splashing! When the children are not in the pool, they are having a blast participating in other camp activities such as arts and crafts, games, songs, sports and more. We will end the week with a trip to a local waterpark.

STEM AND SWIM

Ages 6-12 • $169/$229 Week 6 • Central YMCA This camp is designed for the little scientist in your home. Throughout the week STEM campers will spend half the day exploring science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to create different projects.

Campers will also engage in team building activities, arts & crafts and get to swim in the pool daily!

SWIM ACADEMY

Ages 7-12 • $169/$229 Week 8 • Central YMCA Swim Academy is a great way to develop, challenge, and advance your swim experience. In this aquatic academy, campers will work with our certified Y lifeguards and have time to build on essential swimming skills. This camp is designed to help campers become stronger swimmers. Campers will have two hours of pool time daily; their time will be divided into instructions, free swim, water games and more.

We will end the week with a trip to a local waterpark.

WATER PALOOZA

Ages 7-12 • $169/$229 Week 1, 9 • Central YMCA This wet and wild camp will be a great way to escape the summer sun.

WEIRD SCIENCE

Ages 6-12 • $169/$229 Week 3, 10 • Central YMCA Let your little genius shine in this over-the-top, high-energy fun zone!

Campers will enjoy erupting volcanoes, exploding projects, hands-on science, and many more exciting experiments.

SUMMER SPORTS Summer sports serve as an alternative activity to watching TV and playing video games. Not only can it help your child achieve self-confidence but foster a sense of independence, learn new skills and meet new friends with similar interests.

ENRICHMENT SESSIONS The AMA YMCA enrichment activities are filled with active learning opportunities designed to engage and expand minds. Choose from a menu of multi-week experiences taught by caring and certified staff.

Session offerings vary in topic and include Ballet, Jazz Funk Fusion, Theatre Improv, Intro to Skit Writing, Art Mix Up, Family Art Night, Kids & Clay, Recycled Art and other hands-on learning opportunities.
