As an Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he also plays an active role in teaching plastic surgeons the advanced techniques of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. Dr. Glassman has been performing plastic surgery for over 20 years. He is the director of a certified Ambulatory Plastic Surgery Facility and is an inspector for the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities. In addition, Dr. Glassman was instrumental in developing the comprehensive inservice examination devoted to aesthetic breast surgery. This inaugural exam was administered last year, with great success, and Dr. Glassman is currently innovating a second edition. “The mission of this examination is to promote patient safety and to encourage all plastic surgeons to be up-to-date in the most effective surgical and nonsurgical techniques. It will be structured as a self-assessment tool and will be known as the ‘LifeLong Learning Exercise in Aesthetic Surgery,’” shares Dr. Glassman, chair of the taskforce responsible for the examination’s development. When asked to summarize his mission statement, Dr. Glassman reinforces, “It’s simple.
