Design Concept
Design Objectives
The idea of 'Silong' aims to promote and integrate traditional Filipino architecture that is rooted from the idea of intersecting the lifestyle and culture of the Filipinos together with the challenges faced by the site; thus the concept is derived and applied in the planning of the unit as the lower floor will serve as the utilitarian space while the upper floor as livable spaces.
To provide decent and affordable housing with suitable and multifunctional spaces that can accommodate various forms of facilities for housing, education, healthcare, and livelihood.
To create safe and accessible housing that adapts to the geographical demands of the flood-prone and earthquake-prone site
Design Strategies
To design a space to foster community and collective engagement through shared key spaces and activities
