Detailed tour guide to visit Vagamon Vagamon is a hill station city in Kerala, India, mainly placed in the Peerumedu taluk of the Idukki district. Vagamon which is spelled as Wagamon is located on the boundary of Kottayam and Idukki, at a height of 1,100 meters above sea level. This region has abundant natural vegetation as well as plantation crops such as coffee, tea, and rubber, and is home to lesser-known flora and fauna. Vagamon was not explored to its desired extent, even though the British had plantations here, it was not until 1926 that Walter Duncan and Company began their tea plantations that it became well-known. More tea plantations were established in the area in the 1930s. The famous Kurisumala Ashram was established here in the 1950s, and this was the turning point in its development into a famous destination. As per the National Geographic Traveler, Vagamon is considered one of the "50 most gorgeous spots to visit in India".
