Choosing the Right Training and Boarding Facility for my Dressage Horse(s) From an Adult Amateur's Point of View By Virginia Williams

Navigating through the world of dressage came late in my life as a horsewoman. Having at least 40 years of experience around horses, at the age of 55, I was offered the opportunity to pick a discipline that I would enjoy for years to come: I chose the sport of dressage! The adult amateur brings an enormous amount of business to boarding facilities and trainers across our nation. We are important to the "business" component in the world of dressage. Looking back on my adventure into this dynamic sport, I made some mistakes along the way – mistakes that basically cost us (my horse and I) time. So the information in this article is what I wish I would have had before I went shopping for my first dressage prospect.
