Absolutely. If you’re a side sleeper we advise a soft mattress to allow your hips and shoulders to sink in with no pressure, keeping your spine straight and supporting your body weight evenly.

Does the style of my bedframe affect my choice?

Yes, with a framed bed you need a bedstead mattress designed to go on a slatted base. It’s always best to get advice when you already have a bed for the mattress to go on.

Does body weight affect things?

Your weight definitely has an impact as it determines the correct tension for a pocket spring mattress. There are different firmness ratings which suit different body sizes, so we always suggest you come in and try things out before making a final decision.

CAFÉ BAR ARIGHI The place to eat With 30 years under our belt, it’s safe to say we know a thing or two about food and also what our loyal customers enjoy.

Starting as a simple add-on to the furniture store serving tea and cakes, Café Bar Arighi has grown into a fully licensed restaurant and is now a destination in its own right serving everything from all-day breakfasts to traditional Sunday lunch and afternoon tea.

With seasonal menus specially created by head chef, Geof Broomfield, Café Bar Arighi has a reputation for quality food and superb customer service. Everything is prepared by hand using locally sourced ingredients where possible, including delicious cakes which are baked on site.

Spring ingredients This is the perfect time of year to be enjoying spring vegetables like beans, tender stem broccoli, garden peas and most root vegetables.

You can also dine out on the sweetest snow peas, spring greens, spring cabbage and rhubarb, which is at its best right now. Take advantage of these tasty veg to pep up a salad or use as a side, with plenty of melted butter and salt.

Every year, Arighi Bianchi Director and Head Buyer, Robert Bianchi sets off on his travels to hunt down interior trends and looks to showcase in-store.

From Milan to Paris and closer to home in Birmingham, Robert visits the key furniture design shows to find out what’s new and what’s coming up, so that customers can experience/have access to the very latest in furniture fashion.

At the beginning of the year Arighi Bianchi visited the January Furniture Show at the Birmingham NEC, where we were treated to a smorgasbord of furniture designs and trends set to soar in 2019 – from bold botanicals to natural, earthy hues, we were bowled over by colour.

Rust, terracotta & burnt orange A feast for the eyes, orange was everywhere. The show was bursting at the seams with earthy shades of terracotta and rust - almost every supplier stand had something upholstered in this colour palette. And interiors magazines have been featuring orange since late last year so we can be pretty certain it’s going to be huge.

Brilliant button back A timeless design feature, the button back craze is going nowhere fast. At every turn, more gorgeous, button back detailing on chairs, sofas and footstools, especially in velvet.

Reminiscent of the iconic Chesterfield, button back details add character and charm. A style that’s here to stay.

Very velvet A trend that just keeps growing, velvet adds a touch of class to any interior. This year we can promise you lots of brilliant new jewel colours - teal, emerald and rose for instance.

Detailing on velvet is big too, so look out for fabulous stitching and stud work, which is often hand finished.

On the up Inspired by the latest fashion trends, we saw lots of natural materials on show - bamboo and jute were everywhere, plus tassels, tribal prints, bold florals and botanicals, all making it big as wallpaper and upholstery. All together, a wild and wonderful mix of patterns and colours.
