In Benin, in June 2016, the government launched a major operation to get rid of the country’s main cities. All those who lived in informal activities and occupied the roads and sidewalks – sellers, artisans and small restaurants – they now have to evacuate public spaces in favour of a more beautiful and proposing city. This action has not only spatial consequences, but also economic and social very important.
The aim of the research is to study and analyse the first effects with a particular with a view of the women street vendors. The study was based on three stays research on the site for two years.
