A fouryear degree curriculum with 15 classes and six universities to pickfromisanotheroption. Since many students intend to travel overseas after graduation, their offer is well worth considering. According to the remark above, students see opportunities on both sides. One advantage is the ability to earn while studying, while the disadvantage is working while studying, which may be inconvenient. Clearly, they have opposing views on the scholarship. A guild to build you
by:ShennethNacillaA club that focuses on providing spiritual, mental, emotional support was established by Instructor, Emman Manzano. It's named as Peer Councilor's Guild or PCG which is an extracurricular group that works to emphasize the importance of student’s mental health. “Primarily, this Club will help the students to vent out all their problems in the hopes of supporting and saving them.” Through holding symposiums and seminars as psychological counseling for the students on campus, the club will be able to spread the word of hope among themselvesintheclassroom
PeerCouncilor'sGuildClub will also develop students' leadership skills, specifically their self-esteem and confidence. Further, according to Instructor Emman, this proposal has been around for a long time and he has no idea who came up with it. Nonetheless, he found it as a good guild for guiding students, not only in their studies but in life as well. That’s why it is whereitistoday.

According to Alibudbud, R. (2021), in his study about, “Academic Experiences as Determinants of Anxiety and Depression of Filipino College Students in Metro Manila,” the rates of depression and anxiety among college students have increased over the years. Students experiencing difficulties coping with their studies have up to five times higher risk for depression and anxiety. Thus, clubs like PCG are essential for the well-being of college students. This would reassure them that there are individuals who are willing to listen to their situation.
To students, there are people who are willing to understand and accept you as you are. People you can assure who wouldn’t have prejudices against you. Rather, you will find people who are willing to listen to your cries and guide you to what things you could do to feel light at the moment, and in the longest time. Don't leave your problem at the bottomofyourheart.
The purpose of the Club is to provide support for students, just like at any colleges, and the mission of the PCG members is: to serve each purpose, purposes like saving souls and lives. The club will assist the students with regards to their intellectual, spiritual, emotional, mental, and physicalwell-being.

Many students feel isolated, discouraged, and disconnected from their peers as a result of the pandemic. However, one student from the Christian Colleges of Southeast Asia took the initiative to launch the first-ever virtual Bible study on January 17, 2023, and it has been ongoing ever since, with meetings on Tuesday evenings. The ministry provides a secure space for students to share their thoughts, revelations, and learnings, as well as a forum for expressing their struggles and concerns.

Ms. Rosanna Angelica Padillo, a third-year college student, is the Campus Ministry and virtual Bible study's youthful Pastora. She felt called by God to establish this ministry and has prayed for years about it. She recognized the need for community- and faith-based support and, with the assistance of others, has created a space where students can find encouragement and direction.

On February 23, 2023, the Christian Colleges of Southeast Asia (CCSA) celebrated their first-ever Pinning Ceremony for Practice Teachers' Capability Building and Pre-deployment Seminar Workshop. The event, themed "A Journey Towards Lifelong Learning and Teaching Excellence," acknowledged 179 students from the Education Cluster who are on their way to become excellent teachers.

A Fulfilling Experience of Graduating Students of CCSA
by:DaianeCrystalP.MatanggoChristian Colleges of Southeast Asia will have their first faceto-face graduation after the pandemic on June 23, 2023, at CAP Auditorium in Davao City After the hardships they face beyond years finally, they will savor the momentum of their sacrifices

Few of the everyday struggles that graduating students mostly face are sleepless nights, financial needs, and time management. According to Shiela Mae Alili, a graduating student of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino "As a college student, I encountered various obstacles including effective time management, adapting to a new environment, coping with academic pressure, staying organized, and reviewingmynotesregularly."
Currently, the preparations that graduating students are doing now are applying for their graduation, complying with their requirements before their graduation day, and prioritizing their needs in preparation for graduation such as fees and their toga for graduation. Finally when they graduate the fulfillment is there. "I'm happy because I'll finally graduate, I'll be able to sleep well, and the nights we can't sleep will be over because of the many activities to do. And I'm glad because it's another phase of my life that I will focus on for the new journey that I will take."
Jen Anne Emba, a graduating student. Yet it is true that when we work hard we will aim for success. The experience of the graduates of Christian Colleges Southeast Asia is such an inspiring story and motivation for students who continue and struggle in their academiclife.

THE LIFE ENCOUNTERED: BY WORKING COLLEGE STUDENT OF CHRISTIAN COLLEGES OF SOUTHEAST ASIA
by:KcJoyElisan
Being a working student is stressful, most likely in balancing your social life, time for family, school, and work. Figuring out how to manage the pressure that pursues being a working undergrad, and ensuring you have no less than one night off a week, can bring down your stress levels tentimes. Jamaica Bolo, a 3rd year BSEd English, working student (Call Center Agent) said the reason why she worked is because of money to sustain her family needs and wants. She has the responsibility to care for her family for them to lessen their everyday financial burden in the family. Angelica
She is one of those who wish for a few extra hours to catch more sleep. She usually goes to bed tired in the morning after an. Exhausting nights from work and sometimes she even falls asleep during class discussions.
JamicaBolo3rdYearBSEDENGLISHStudent workingasCallCenterAgent
Campomayor is also a 3rd Year BSEd English Working Student (Tutor Teacher). Her reason is to provide allowances that are needed personally for school especially when it comes to transportation fee when she will go to school and other school matters and also provide necessities for her family. In one year and a month, Ms. Bolo's situation has been working as a Call Center Agent. She stated that Balancing work and school errands are tiring. I start my day as early as possible and mayeven feel that the hours devotedaren'tenough".
Campomayorstated, "it's hard for me to work while studying because there's a lot of school activities that i missed especially in my situation right now." But still she can cope with those things and worked hard for the success. For the better future they would ever have in their life - to be a professional someday All of these are just a start for them. Even though it was a tough battle for them, still, they only want to take the responsibility to be able to take care of the needs and wants for their family. Because they believe that one day their decisions, support of their family, love and care, and working hard for some years will pay off and be worth fighting for. Kudostoallworkingstudents for your dedication and hardwork!
“Through this virtual Bible study, I not only learned more about God's presence in my life, but I also recognized that I had a supportive network of individuals who are eager to listen to me when I share my stories, anxieties, andconcerns.”

However, this new enrollment system seems not to be fine with some of the students, according to their experiences. One of the students, Miss Mary Therese Albaran a third-year student in CCSA, stated that “In every enrollment, it tests my patience because of the long queuing. It took me hours to become enrolled. But, so far, it was a good experience for me because of the improvement of the enrollment system but waiting too longtobeenrolledistooexhausting.”
They have waited long hours for both computer-based and paperbased enrollment systems before they can be officially declared enrolled, and so they wished for better improvements. Nonetheless, the majority of them still believe that computers are far more reliable than paper. Now, this concludes our ability to confidently say that no matter what happens, CCSA can and will make progress.

EDUCATION RIDE: THE ROUTE FROM PRE-PANDEMIC, MID PLIGHT, AND BEYOND
What the Crisis Reveals About the Transition of Education
COVID-19 pandemic has left an indelible mark on every aspect of our lives, and education has been no exception. The global education system has experienced a metamorphose shift, marked by unprecedented challenges and groundbreaking adaptations. In this editorial, we will delve into the three distinct phases of education: before the pandemic, during the pandemic, and the future trajectory after the pandemic.

In the pre-pandemic era, education systems predominantly followed a traditional model. Students gathered in physical classrooms, engaged in face-toface interactions with teachers, and benefited from a structured curriculum. Issues such as unequal access to quality education, outdated teaching methods, and an emphasis on rote memorization were prevalent in many regions. This system, while effective in many ways, faced its own set of challenges. Limited access to quality education, overcrowded classrooms, and outdated teaching methods were prevalent concerns. Furthermore, the digital divide limited the potential of technology in the classroom, leaving many students without essential digital skills.
The arrival of COVID-19 forced educational institutions worldwide to swiftly adapt to the new reality. Schools closed their doors, and remote learning became the primary mode of education. This transition came with numerous challenges. Teachers had to rapidly pivot to online teaching, often with limited training and resources. Students faced difficulties in adjusting to virtual classrooms, dealing with isolation, and managing distractions at home. However, the shift to online learning revealed stark disparities in access to technology and internet connectivity, leaving many students at a disadvantage.
Moreover, students faced emotional and psychological challenges due to the absence of peer-topeer interactions and the added burden of home responsibilities. Educators, on their part, grappled with the need to acquire new digital skills and create engaging virtual learning environments. Despite these challenges, the pandemic forced education systems to embrace technology, sparking innovative solutions and highlighting the potential of distance learning.
On the other hand, the crisis also prompted innovative solutions. Schools and teachers embraced various online platforms, video conferencing tools, and educational apps to ensure learning continuity. Remote learning opened new possibilities, enabling access to diverse resources and the ability to learn at one's own pace. Virtual classrooms became hubs of creativity, fostering collaboration and global connections. The pandemic highlighted the urgency of addressing existing disparities and promoting digital literacy for all.
As we gradually emerge from the pandemic, the education sector stands at a crucial crossroads. The lessons learned during the crisis can pave the way for meaningful and lasting changes. It is imperative that we build upon the successes and challenges faced during remote learning to shape a more inclusive and resilient education system.
Firstly, addressing the digital divide should be a top priority. Governments, educational institutions, and private organizations must work together to ensure equitable access to technology and high-speed internet. Investing in infrastructure and providing devices to under-served communities will bridge the gap and create a level playing field.
Secondly, educators need support and training in effective online teaching methodologies. Professional development programs should focus on equipping teachers with the necessary digital skills, pedagogical strategies, and tools to deliver engaging and interactive virtual lessons. Hybrid learning models can combine the benefits of in-person instruction with the flexibility of online learning, catering to diverse student needs.
Lastly, a re-imagined curriculum is needed, emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability. The pandemic highlighted the importance of resilience and digital literacy in the face of future disruptions. Encouraging interdisciplinary approaches, project-based learning, and nurturing creativity will better prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century.
The education system has traversed a tumultuous journey, from pre-pandemic challenges to the unprecedented disruption of the crisis, and now stands on the precipice of transformation. As we rebuild and reshape the education landscape, let us seize this opportunity to address the long-standing inequities, reimagine teaching and learning, and foster a more inclusive and resilient system. The pandemic forced us to confront the shortcomings of education, but it also ignited the spark of innovation and adaptability. As we move beyond the pandemic, there is an opportunity to reshape education for the better, ensuring that it is accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of learners. By embracing the hybrid model and evolving paradigms, we can build a future where education is truly transformative, empowering individuals and societies to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IS ENOUGH TO MAKE ONE BELIEVE IN GOD
By: Maryjoy MasongArtificial intelligence has been a hot topic of discussion for many years It has changed the way we look at technology and how it can make our lives easier It is known how AI has the capacity to become a game-changer in fields like healthcare, finance, and transportation However, as we delve deeper into the world of AI, we begin to realize that there is so much more to it than just code and algorithms "A year spent in artificial intelligence is enough to make one believe in God" is a fascinating quote by Alan Perlis an American computer scientist and pioneer in programming languages The quote suggests that the study of artificial intelligence gives us a glimpse of the complexity and sophistication of the human mind which is awe-inspiring A great word to describe indeed! Additionally, it could imply that the creation and advancement of AI could make us question our own existence and beliefs, leading us to ponder the existence of God that holds a higher power over every being
Moreover, the complexity of AI algorithms is something that is mesm erizing And the way machines are able to learn on their own without any human intervention is something that amazes the population This ability is what has allowed AI to revolutionize industries such as healthcare where machines are now able to diagnose illnesses at an unprecedented speed This level of sophistication is something that is beyond human comprehension and it is here that we begin to see the power of AI
Another aspect of AI that is awe-inspiring is the way it is able to predict outcomes with such accuracy The capabilities of AI have taken the world by storm Be it predicting customer behavior or stock prices AI algorithms are becoming increasingly accurate with every passing day Artificial intelligence has come a long way in the past decade With the advancements in machine learning natural language processing and computer vision we have seen AI accomplish incredible feats However the more complex AI systems have developed the more we realize that they are still limited in their capabilities As we encounter more complex problems, we begin to question if we can truly copy or replicate the cognitive abilities of human beings This limitation can make us believe that there is a greater force at work a divine being that created us with unique cognitive abilities which will never be replaced by man-made things on earth
Furthermore, the concept of ethics is becoming increasingly important in AI development As AI systems become more intelligent and autonomous theres a need to program them with moral guidelines to ensure that they make ethical decisions However the question of how to define ethics becomes increasingly complicated The fact that we are grappling with defining ethics for AI systems that we have created can make us question if a higher power is responsible for defining human ethics

Thus, AI has the potential to cause significant disruption and change in our lives It can even make us believe that God is man-made that there is nothing one’s great mind cannot do As we explore the possibilities of AI, we need to consider the impact it will have on employment, health-care, education, and society and most importantly as a whole The more we delve into the greatness of AI the more we realize how dangerous it would be once we put too much attention and belief on technology and human minds that we forgot the real source of our wisdom

The Reality of Toxic Positivity (Jayther Florencio)
By: Maryjoy Masong
It’s no secret how today’s generation likes to put labels on everything Like how stressful motherhood is now popularly called PTSD This is medically proven by the way! Or how deciding to live a life one always wanted is now called Y O L O or You Only Live Once! What more? Do I need to tell you about how important knowing what Love Language is in a relationship? Although I know that this is an advantage for everyone, I’d like to share my thoughts about an intriguing topic for me, that is, Toxic Positivity
Toxic Positivity means having a "good vibes only" approach to life and discarding any seemingly negative emotions It denies people the authentic support they need to cope with what they are facing It means that no matter how bad the situation we are in, people who choose to be positive may be called out as a toxic person as it denies the fact that one is in an unpleasant situation What people call it is quite inappropriate However, before I want to express my opinion regarding this matter, I’d like to address some examples of what toxic positivity is According to Kendra Cherry, MSEd in her article the following are the signs: Experiencing Guilt for Being Sad or Angry Hiding Painful Emotions Reciting positive quotes about hard situations and Ignoring the Problems itself in order to cope
I’d like to express my opinion now that I have laid out the basics on this topic Do I agree on this matter? Definitely! Filipinos are known for having a resilient and joyful character and that is only possible when we try to see light in the darkest situation Imagine being bombarded with financial difficulties everyday and being stressed about it? We ll probably want to just stay in bed the whole time as we are too depressed But do we have a choice? No We need to get up no matter how difficult it gets because we need money to provide for our daily needs However, we cannot overlook the possibilities that there might really be a danger of this positivity “Too much positivity is toxic because it can harm people who are going through difficult times Rather than being able to share genuine human emotions and gain unconditional support people who are faced with toxic positivity find their feelings dismissed ignored or outright invalidated
The reality is, we are all going through something in life No matter how hard it may be, we should respect one’s way of coping If one copes through positivity and seeing life with hope, then we should rejoice in their strength But if one faces trials in sorrow and sadness, we should also respect their emotions It takes strength to tell people you’re not okay so as someone trusts us with their emotional state we shouldn t invalidate the way they feel All emotions are valid it s what makes us human As long as we keep going despite the darkest moment, know that we’ll see the light

Sharp Vision: The Story of Marites and Their Eagle Eyes
By Jessa Baquiller"Sharp Vision: The Story of Marites and Her Eagle Eyes" funnily describes the reality of Filipino life, wherein none of us are exempted from the judgment of the neighbors who looks out like prey This is an interesting poem where we could crack a joke instead of stressing over their unsolicited comments
I
Judging others is just a simple task; Facts remain unknown until the person is asked They sometimes mooch and stalk; They usually form a group to talk and talk
That’s how Marites work
II

Marites' gaze is an eagle's eyes; Both have the sharpest sights
Each eagle eye has two foveae areas of acute vision
While Marites has great vision and communicative lips; They're called, for that reason, “Masters of Arts in Relaying Information”

III
I could say I’m one of the victims; But their opinions don't concern me. Marites’ storytelling may be more exaggerated than mine, Their eyes are more than a CCTV camera For them to create new ideas and drama
Every step backwards in the mud of a madman, Every step away from the lingering long of an embrace from your mum
Hearing loud voices gets you calm, circling your space and biting your tongue
III

Where did you get the nerve?
How did you keep what you don’t deserve?
Who said that you’re welcome there?
Who said you’re allowed to speak the tongues of others?
IV
Am I the prisoner or are you?
Is he him or is he you?
Think again, now, you silly!
He’s picking the thorns of your lilies
V
Allow Him to flush the wet clothes
Let Him hold your loads
Let Him make a river from your blood;
Until you reach the end of the blues of your stoned-heart

BIG TREE BEST FRIEND
Monica MantalabaIt was early in the morning at the Wonder Orphanage, and the children woke up to a wonderful sunny morning Chloe is a little girl who never once saw her parents and grew up in the orphanage In the afternoon, Chloe went to the backyard, hoping she could catch a dragonfly this time She went further and further away until she found herself in the middle of big trees But then suddenly, there was this big, round orange seed that caught her eye She carefully reached out to hold the seed and grab it Feeling worried that someone might harm it, she then started digging and burying it in the middle of the forest
The next morning, Chloe went to the forest to check on the seed However, when she got there, she noticed a large tree right beneath where she had buried the big, round orange seed yesterday It was beautiful, but she was taken by surprise as she witnessed the tree moving She couldn’t believe what she was seeing and hearing from the big tree, saying that she was the one who gave life to him Chloe realized that this was the seed she planted because yesterday, there was no tree as huge as the one she’s talking to Until then, Chloe watered the large tree every morning to keep it robust and lush They became close friends over the years Together, they sang, danced, and played As Big Tree produced oranges, Chloe would often ask him to eat them, which resulted in her having wonderful dreams every single night
Days, weeks, and months passed while the Big Tree waited for Chloe, but she was nowhere to be found A drought began after a year passed Since the town’s residents were without anything to drink, they went in search of fruit to quench their thirst
Discovering Big Tree’s oranges, they then started abusing his generosity, and later on, Big Tree stopped producing fruits due to his great despair, and the people threw hate at him
The following day, Chloe and Big Tree reunited once again It took them hours to cry, and Chloe explained to him that she had been gone for three years because Mr and Mrs Scofield adopted her As Chloe longed to have parents She never anticipated the mistreatment she went through at the hands of her adoptive parents, but she was thankful she was able to escape from them Big Tree was overwhelmed and relieved that it caused the water to come out of his roots The dried-up brook started to flow without their knowledge After 18 months of drought, the whole town finally had water for drinking and washing The people were chanting, their voices filled with joy and gratitude After that, the branches grew, and the leaves once again began to emerge Because of their sincere and profound love for one another, Chloe and the Big Tree were able to save the residents of their community, especially the farmers Big Tree resumed producing orange fruits And each night, Chloe prays for her Big Tree Friend
BINDETH OF TZERUA

I had a high-school friend who always had this pink notebook with her She was silent and always observing around She spoke only when she’s with me, and because of that, she’s always been a victim of bullying I had to protect her all the time

One time, while we were walking around the garden behind our classroom, at that hour, with no one around, we talked about how our journey to high-school got tougher and all the usual chitchat we had about our crushes She suddenly stopped walking and when I turned around to look at her, her expression was blank I asked her, “What’s the problem?” She only looked at me and handed her notebook “What’s this for? Am I even allowed to read this?” I jokingly whisper to her as I open the first page of it “Woah! You did this?” As I said, I flipped through other pages of her notebook with different drawings
I stopped when one drawing had very familiar characters “Is this me and you? Aw! how kind of you,” and I hugged her, smiling
“You can let go of me,” she spoke as I stood near her, fixing my clothes “No, you can stay here if you want I’ll miss you; I can’t let you go,” I said pouting while holding her hand “Thank you for protecting me. Thank you for taking care of my feelings But you should not stay like this Others are making fun of you It’s not your fault,” she said while pointing at the notebook I was holding
My tears fell, and I hugged her tightly “I know. I know. But I can’t let you go,” I cried She removed my hands around her gently, touched my face and wiped my tears “I am safe and sound, because of you You don’t have to take the blame. I will miss you too, but this is not my world anymore. I have to go and you have to let me go.”
I breathed deeply and said “Tzerua, I’m letting you go. You will always be in my heart.”
I was about to hug her when I couldn’t touch her anymore She was as if a reflection that glows, and she happily looked at me Forgive yourself and she disappeared through the light Crying, I flipped the last page of her notebook, and there I saw the drawing of two human figures but one’s a mere shadow
THE MISSING FOOTSTEPS
Angelica Padillo“They got married ” Good for them though I looked around and saw familiar faces celebrating with us They are the people we treasure and dreamed to be with in our most awaited day
Orange sunset What more can I ask for when my dream ceremony was blessed with this beautiful view
“Let’s go, my lovely wife.” He said with a bright smile
I shouldn’t be crying This is what I wished to see God must have heard my plea to witness this day
I took a step out, I now need to depart “Theo, this is the name of my child.” He said on his visit “He’s a great musician!” He proudly blurted in his sleep
“Theo’s gotten married!” you look good in your tuxedo
“She’s sick, I’m afraid ” This somehow looks familiar “She’s dying I don’t wanna be alone ” I am sorry
I am sorry that her illness made me happy
I am sorry that I am still counting the days
Forgive me when I wish it was me you had a child with Forgive me when I knew we’d make a better musical team Forgive me but I get excited knowing life’s getting shorter
She’s sick? I can’t wait
She’s dying? I’m willing to watch her take her last breath
I have waited for this
Long enough to witness all those years
And I’ll still gladly wait
I’m still here, waiting for your last twilight
Waiting to feel your embrace
In the eternity you first promised
For I know you will come looking for me
As I have been silently walking with you with missing footprints I have been waiting in the afterlife like the air, you cannot see I have been with you side by side all throughout the years
As they cry for you,
Go, take your last breath
Then you will finally see me
And finally, you will know I have with me my promise,
And even until death, I won’t part
I’ll wait for that day
When finally, together, we’ll take this journey with our missing footsteps
