The aim of this final work is to describe the Vilnius Liberation Union organization in the period of 1925-1938 and its contribution in liberating Vilnius from Poles.
The paper consists of two main parts: Vilnius Liberation Union (VLU) foundation circumstances, review of the main political factors that influenced the foundation of VLU, further analysis of VLU organizational structure, financial mechanism, also there is stressed the importance of other public, political and cultural organizations in the post WWI Lithuania. Second part is devoted to VLU Alytus district branch as a second biggest branch of VLU. Here are given the analysis of VLU Alytus district branch structure, activities such as political and educational activities as well as organization of various events also there you can analysis about VLU publications in the most important VLU journal „Mūsų Vilnius“ (Our Vilnius).
