Dear brother Alarik,
From you there are several deeply welcome letters unanswered yet, but I am forced to reduce my writing to a minimum as my eyes still are a miserable optical instrument due to the fact that my blood circulation has become worse in my head. My doctor has ordered ice compresses along my back and on the head but with little effect, if I cannot get some months quietness from the everlasting trouble. I have spent four days in Aix Les Bains, where the baths were rather refreshing, until the company in Glasgow started to literally attack me with unpleasant and shocking dispatches.
Excuse my scrawls. I am writing with a cold compress around my head....
Warm regards from your devoted friend A. Nobel
Congestions = inflow of blood to a part of body or organ in larger quantity as usual..
