The Oklahoma Golf Course Superintendents Association (OKGCSA) and golf industry stakeholders have collaborated to develop the “Oklahoma Golf Industry Best Management Practices Guide”. Oklahoma golf course superintendents are committed to their communities and to protecting natural resources throughout the state. Oklahoma's rich and diverse climate zones and geographic areas range from the semi-arid western high plains, to the western foothills of the Ozark and Ouachita mountains, and everything in between. Superintendents are tasked with meeting customer expectations while being mindful of impact on the environment. The BMP guide covers areas ranging from design and construction to pesticide management to water quality and wildlife protection. Industry leaders worked together to create the document, in collaboration with Radius Sports Group, a sustainability consulting firm. The National Planning Guide was developed by the GCSAA and USGA, in partnership with the PGA Tour; funded through the EIFG.
