The Connecticut Association of Golf Course Superintendents (CAGCS) and golf industry stakeholders have collaborated to develop the “Connecticut Golf Industry Best Management Practices Guide”. Connecticut is rich in history, culture, and varied landscapes. Its terrain spans across coastal towns, mountains, plains, river valleys, urban centers, and forested areas. CAGCS, founded in 1929, is comprised of hard-working agronomists who are responsible for maintaining golf courses throughout the state. They are committed to their communities and environmental stewardship of these areas. The guide covers BMPs ranging from design and construction to pesticide management to water quality and wildlife protection. Industry leaders worked together to create the document, in collaboration with Radius Sports Group, a sustainability consulting firm. The National Planning Guide was developed by the GCSAA and USGA, in partnership with the PGA Tour; funded through the EIFG.
