This folio is a concentrated exert from my masters study. the project outlined is imbedded within the larger Palazzo il Popolo e le masse a community destination for local Venetian's set in Giudecca Venice, Italy. The Mercato is a temporal market house in a 18th century cement factory adapted to a multi floor, mixed used structure. Within visitors will find a basement flooded with natural light, filtered through the structure above. over flowing with books of knowledge. The main stage will present locals with a theatre of market, the central core of the floor houses transitory table which raise and lower like a marionet under a puppeteers hand. Flanking this is two static zones home to a Bacari (Venetian tapas) and two flexible retail zones. Designed with a grid block system allowing tenants to create their own space as required.
