PROJECT BRIEF
Professor Kristopher Palagi | Fall 2024
Individual Studio Project Attitude, Atmosphere, Articulation
GOALS
PROJECT: Attitude, Atmosphere, Articulation is an exploration of architectural composition and phenomenology through conceptual modeling. This project examines the interplay between material, form, and spatial connection, challenging conventional notions of assembly. By deconstructing precedent buildings and reinterpreting their structural logic, the study expands architectural vocabulary through a rigorous process of analysis and abstraction.
PERSONAL:Nararate a story, through graphic composition,& allow it to speak for me through intention design decisions
DESCRIPTION
Through a series of conceptual models, the work distills architecture into its purest elements, highlighting the subtle yet profound relationships between structure, light, and perception.

DESIGN INTENTIONS & SCHEMES
Initial thoughts focus on separating the spaces to enhance the experience of learning financial leisure for students while also optimizing private areas for employees. Additionally, diverse separate spaces are envisioned for student engagement activities
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
The outdoor transition area serves as a symbolic gateway, inviting visitors to embark on a journey of financial empowerment. Each tier within the facility is meticulously designed to guide guests and students seamlessly towards their destination, fostering a sense of purpose and anticipation along the way.
During my time at WATG, I contributed to the conceptual design of luxury resorts and villas, using sketching, modeling, and visualization to explore spatial relationships and guest experience. My role focused on hand-drawn studies, aiding the development of massing, materiality, and seamless indoor-outdoor integration. Working within an interdisciplinary team, I translated design narratives into sketches and digital models, ensuring the vision aligned with WATG’s signature approach to luxury hospitality.
We tested numerous forms of illustrating our design until we found a method of construction that worked. For modeling, we experimented with various widths of corrugated cardboard.

KENCHIKU CAFE & AI
Exploring AI in Architectural Rendering:
In designing Kenchiku Café, I explored the evolving role of AI in architectural visualization— not just as a tool for hyper-realism but as a medium to evoke warmth and atmosphere within a rigid urban fabric. Set within a dense block of New York City, this project challenged the conventional perception of AI-generated renders as cold or mechanical. Instead, I leveraged AI to enhance the emotional depth of the space, using light, materiality, and subtle imperfections to create an inviting, human-

GOALS
To Create Freely
Using architecture as a foundation, I explore beyond structure—imagining, conceptualizing, and constructing spaces that evoke emotion. My work is a fusion of design and storytelling, where every line, material, and form is intentional. It’s about curating experiences, shaping atmospheres, and crafting lasting impressions. Architecture is more than a discipline; it’s my medium for creating enduring art. SOFTWARE

Spatial Assembly Concept Drawings
Professor Palagi | Spring 2021 Individual Studio Project
DESCRIPTION

SCULPTURE ITERATION
Architecture is an ongoing dialogue between gravity, space, and composition. This exploration of sculptural buildings investigates the center of gravity as a pivotal force in creating compelling spatial experiences. By strategically balancing negative and positive space, the work transforms voids into active design elements, pushing the limits of structural equilibrium.
This project reaffirms my approach to design: that architecture is as much about what is present as what is absent, and that the strength of a structure lies not only in its materials but in the spatial relationships it defines. Through this ongoing exploration, I seek to blur the lines between art and architecture, allowing sculpture to inform my understanding of balance, weight, and spatial interaction.
