ARCC CUSTOM PROGRAMS
Customized Travel Programs for Schools, Universities & Private Groups

ARCC MISSION & VISION
ARCC Programs—founded as Adventures Rolling Cross Country—started by taking students “rolling” in a van cross country to have outdoor adventures and develop as leaders. Over 40 years later, while our passion for transformative outdoor experiences hasn’t changed, we have expanded to running varied programs across the globe, all designed to broaden perspectives, spark personal growth, and equip participants to contribute meaningfully as active global citizens.
Our mission is to cultivate the next generation of informed, empathetic, and action-oriented global citizens through experiential learning, intentional community partnerships, and responsible travel. We envision a world where cross-cultural engagement through accessible and ethical travel leads to a more just, connected, and sustainable world.
CUSTOM PARTNERS
Our Custom programs are unique adventures we run year-round for K-12 schools, colleges and universities, clubs and organizations, families, and other private groups who want immersive and educational travel experiences customized to their specific needs, goals, and interests.

OUR APPROACH
Throughout our over 40 years in the outdoor travel industry, we have honed our unique approach to fostering successful partnerships, delivering high quality programming, and facilitating profound learning and growth.
Collaborative & Supportive Partnerships
We don’t see our schools or other private groups as clients but instead as collaborative partners working alongside each other to deliver the highest quality program filled with impactful learning and experiences. We get to know each partner (their mission, ethos, staff, curriculum, etc.), so we can deliver programs highly customized to each individual partner.
Standard of Excellence
Our high standard of excellence reflects in all that we do. We have thorough safety and risk management protocols which involve rigorous vendor vetting, detailed risk management policies, and crisis response plans and trainings. We hire mature and experienced leaders, who have vast experience working with youth and are all Wilderness-First Aid certified (80 hour medical certificate). We are also deeply committed to ethical and sustainable travel, prioritizing mutually beneficial partnerships, supporting local and family-owned businesses, and partnering with on-the-ground organizations in the field of renewable energy and reforestation, among other initiatives.
Facilitated Group Experience
citizenship in students by designing areas of learning outcomes.
Whether we are running a multi-group (e.g. whole-grade) or single group program, we keep each individual group small in order to facilitate an intimate experience with a strong group bond. Our skilled leaders, group focus, and fun and effective ARCC traditions all work together to make a truly facilitated group experience, bonding each ARCC group for life!
Intentional Program Design
Working backwards, our design process begins with understanding overall partner goals and identifying meaningful learning outcomes. With these in mind, we collaborate with all stakeholders (we love when students are involved in the process!), to design highly customized itineraries aligned to group interests, needs, and budget. Our programs are grounded in global education best practice and designed to complement school curricula, learner profiles, and co-curricular programming. Part of our approach involves not overly filling itineraries, intentionally leaving space for groups to decide what they want to see and do.
Transformational Learning
Although different programs focus on some more than others, all of our programs are designed to develop four areas of learning: social emotional, leadership, global competence, and travel and outdoor knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes. Through our ARCC core components as well as carefully selected additional components, participants “learn by doing” through a facilitated cycle of experience, reflection, and application. We deepen on-program learning through pre and post program resources and measure overall impact through sophisticated assessment and evaluation practices.
