Director’s Corner Wow! What a summer we have had! It is been filled with wonderful sunny days and fun activities. Our Community Connections Calendar continues to keep people informed of the fun things that are happening in Allegan County. Activities that are organized by both the community and The Arc. If you haven’t checked these calendars out yet you can find them on our Facebook page, on our website or you can have us add you to our email list. You just have to give us a call or send an email to: info@arcallegan.org. A few noteworthy activities this summer was listening to a free concert in Allegan at the Rollin on the River music series, watching The Lion King at the M-89 theater in Plainwell, and having some friendly trivia competition in Wayland. This month we are also bringing an important Community wide event to Allegan and Ottawa County in partnership with The Arc of Ottawa County and the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council. Charting the LifeCourse Community Wide Event will take place on September 24 from 9:30a-12:30p at The Trestle Stop Restaurant in Hamilton. All are welcome to learn more about the framework that was developed to help individuals and families of all abilities at any age or stage of life develop a vision for a good life, think about what they need to know and do, identify how to find or develop supports, and discover what it takes to live the lives they want to live. More details about the training can be found inside the newsletter. Lastly, please consider coming out for dinner at Culvers in Plainwell on October 8 between 5p-8p. A portion of their sales that evening will support The Arc of Allegan County. Hope to see you there!
