The History of Conception The idea of raising the bars of Indian education begun when a report by McKinsey stated that India will be left behind in the global digital sprint if we are not on the track to upskill Indian talents in the next few decades.

In this context, the Government of India in collaboration with State Governments and Industries conceptualized a social enterprise as a PublicPrivate Partnership (PPP) entity to raise the calibre of Indian talents. Thus ICT Academy, the brainchild of farsighted policymakers, educationists and industry leaders came into being on August 2009.

A Decade of Augmenting Nation Building From then, ICT Academy, with a vision to be the leading ICT knowledge center, providing consultancy and training through industry specific research thereby creating a new generation of talent pool. On this journey, ICT Academy collaborates with public and private organizations to create, integrate and disseminate knowledge in the field of ICT and provides every learner an equal opportunity to become industry-ready thus bridging the gap between academic output and industry requirements.

Digital India Pledge 2015 Digital India vision aimed at transforming India into a fully connected knowledge economy offering world class services at the click of a mouse.

The vision aims to change the life in rural India by making every citizen a netizen who will be a fully empowered citizen. The Government of India has moved towards the accomplishment of complete digitization of the Nation to achieve the goals of ICT through its Digital India vision.

Inspired by the vision, ICT Academy created a platform for stakeholders to contribute towards success of this Mission. The ICT Academy “Digital India Pledge 2015” was a new initiative under the ICT Academy Digital Literacy Mission, which helped people develop the skills required to interact in the digital world. This pledge was a collaborative initiative of institutions and corporate in India, that expected to make more than 25,000 individuals

with low technological literacy to become digitally literate in 2015. Under this new initiative 250 institutions pledged to create 25,000 digital literates across the state of Tamil Nadu in 2015. NASSCOM , TiE Chennai and CiO Klub were the supporting partners.

DellEMC was the technology sponsor for the pledge and donated 100 laptops for training the rural masses on Digital Literacy by ICT Academy under these initiatives.

Youth Present was a national presentation contest conducted to bring out the effective presentation and communication skills in students through their inspiring presentations on any topic of their passion that inspires their peers. Each contestant presented an interesting format of 10 minutes to present with 20 Slides, each displayed for 30 seconds. This initiative identified young, powerful and effective communicators. ICT Academy Youth Present was organized regionally across Tamil Nadu.
