In this month’s Sire Line study of Skowronek, we are reminded of Carl Schmidt’s (later known by his adopted name of Carl Raswan) role in importing horses to the U.S. from England’s Crabbet Park, including some by Skowronek himself. From Arabian Horse World’s May 1983 issue, “Carl S. Raswan, a Life Worth Remembering,” which recounts some of Raswan’s adventures in Arabia in search of the purest Arab horses.
