This portfolio is a compilation of the work done as part of the Urban Expansion and Regeneration Planning Studio (Monsoon 2019 semester). The objective of the Studio was to equip students with the skills to develop micro-level plans, including several statutory and non-statutory microlevel planning mechanisms. MP Nagar, Bhopal was a distinct site - a commercial centre and upcoming TOD zone of the city. The key challenge was to accommodate variety of uses that have rooted there lately and multiple transit modes that have come up haphazardly in different timelines.
The proposal was to adopt liberal approach for zoning by allocating mixed use of varying intensities. Also, built character was proposed to be regulated through neighbourhood level development control regulations. Lastly, several projects were proposed to improve the public realm.
