This portfolio is a compilation of the work done as part of the Development Plan Studio (Spring semester 2019). The primary objective of the DP studio was to develop core competencies necessary to formulate a development plan. This exercise began with one-week practice to formulate proposals for 1sqkm precinct (studied in previous semester), followed by studying of a comprehensive plan of an international case study (in this case Canberra, Australia) for one week to gather brief understanding of good practices.
Next, the Development plan preparation process involved analysis of existing situation, conceptual proposals, zoning, broad development control regulations, major projects and cost estimates. The semester was divided into four iterations, each lasting around 3 weeks and focussing on the same theme.
Rajkot Development Plan 2041: A liberal approach was adopted to formulate the development plan. Growth of multiple economic centers was facilitated by catering their respective needs.
