It’s everywhere. Sort of. Wireless is everywhere these days. Well, almost. You still have to power the wireless devices, with you guessed it – wires. You see, a few weeks ago when we were in the field helping a customer with their remote wireless installation, one thing jumped out at me – the trench. Even though the data is wireless, they had to dig to get power lines to their radio modems and I/O’s. What a hassle. Not to mention the expense. What about solar? But how to get the right solar panel, the right battery, not to mention the voltage regulators, relays and an enclosure and mounting hardware, and make it all work together with enough power for their application – well, you get the idea.
