The Sisterhood Wall Hanging is stunning on its own as shown to the right (up to 70” x 70” with a 9” block), or can be turned into a larger quilt (up to 111” x 111” with a 9” block) as shown below. Simply purchase the optional border CD, turn it on point and add the borders! This BOM program will be taught in 10 monthly sessions. You will receive multi-formatted design files including 5 block sizes (5” to 9”), full color step-by-step instructions, and monthly hands-on and demonstration classes. If you miss a class or need a refresher, videos are available online for each block. The possibilities are endless! This quilt only looks complicated but we promise it’s not. We will guide you through each step from embroidering and quilting the blocks, joining the blocks, and finishing the seams on the back! The registration fee is $80 which also includes your notebook and USB stick (given out at the first meeting). Then each month the design fee will be $18. The class will be a hands-on format or demonstration as the month requires or as desired by our students.

Kits will be available in the colors shown or you may select your own fabrics. The fabric kit for this Block of the Month program will include all the fabrics for the top, borders, and binding. This project makes a 106” x 106” king sized quilt. The registration fee is $60. Then each month the pattern, class and fabric fee is $36 or $10 per month for pattern and class only. You may elect to attend the classes or have the kits and pattern shipped automatically. What a great way to enhance your piecing skills over the next months and create this gorgeous quilt. Page 12

Remodeling Referral from Appletree .... Have you been thinking about adding a new sewing studio, deck, or other addition or remodeling project? We have had some remodeling done to our downstairs family room, bedroom, laundry room, and bathroom this past spring. Our job contractor was Joe Leeper of Leeper Construction. We have been so happy with Joe’s work, scheduling, and payment structure that I thought I’d share his contact information with our customers. Joe came out to the house several times to consult with us and take measurements so he knew exactly what we wanted. His job estimate was very reasonable and within my expected range. When we notified Joe that we had decided to go with him, he came out with a detailed drawing and contract explaining the work scope, schedule and expected payment schedule. Joe is a carpenter and does most of the demolition and carpentry by himself and brings in very skilled subcontractors for projects outside his expertise. Joe takes on only one major job at a time so that he can focus his efforts upon getting the job done in a reasonable time frame and keeps his subcontractors on schedule too! Joe typically Page 16

works from 7:30 in the morning till 5 or 6 at night. He even worked several weekends to keep on schedule. This was an amazing change for me. I had been used to gaps of several days to weeks because the contractor was juggling several jobs at the same time. Joe Leeper is definitely an exacting perfectionist with a level in hand for every adjustment. His work has been top notch. We are very happy with the final job. Everything is exactly as we wanted and looks fantastic. The job was finished slightly over schedule due to extra change orders. One of the best things that persuaded me to go with Leeper Construction is that Joe is the son of Edith Leeper, a reknown quilter and one of the founding members of the Booneslick Quilters Guild here in Columbia, MO. She is known for being the first Missouri quilter to finish all of the Kansas City Star quilt blocks. So Joe understands the need for more lighting for accurate piecing and spatial arrangements for work efficiency. I would highly recommend Joe of Leeper Construction for your next remodel. Tell him Millie & Wendy of Appletree Quilting gave you the referral!
