MILTON, Ga. — A small but involved group of neighbors gathered at a June 26 open house to weigh in on site plans for Milton’s Legacy Park and the Milton City Park and Preserve. Visitors at the informal meeting, held at the preserve on Dinsmore Road, were invited to submit public comment cards expressing their likes and dislikes for current concepts. Visitors also spoke with a representative from global infrastructure adviser Moffatt and Nichol, Milton Public Works Director Sara Leaders and City Engineer Scott Tkach. So far, pickleball courts lead the pack of undesired elements, according to Parks and Recreation Director Tom McKlveen. Otherwise, most of the feedback has been good. Several neighbors, whose backyards will connect to the new active component of the Milton City Park and Preserve expressed concerns over noise and safety. “The people at this meeting are people who are concerned about what is going to happen in their backyard, because this is our backyard,” neighbor Mary Williams said.
