Statue pays tribute to longtime arborist

A note to our readers

A bronzed horse statue honoring long-time City of Milton Arborist Mark Law was installed last week at the new roundabout at Charlotte Drive and Mayfield Road. Law envisioned the public art piece prior to his death from cancer in 2019. A GoFundMe initiative to fund the project began following Law’s death, and the goal of $6,900 for the statue and its installation was quickly surpassed. Milton officials say they will hold a formal unveiling for the statue with Law’s family and the Milton Arts Council in the future. HANS APPEN/HERALD
