2020 YEAR IN REVIEW
Even under conditions of a “new normal,” Johns Creek had plenty of events to mark 2020. Clockwise from top left: Chattahoochee boys basketball celebrates the program's first state championship March 7 after outlasting Lanier, 66-63, in an overtime thriller; Like the original memorial in Washington, D.C., the “Wall That Heals” in Newtown Park is a black chevron with the names of U.S. service members who lost their lives or were missing in action in Vietnam; In May, dozens of students from the Wellington neighborhood joined in an impromptu graduation parade arranged by residents to honor recent graduates; and in October, the mural “Everyone Has A Seat In Johns Creek” was completed at Newtown Park as part of a project by civic groups to promote the community’s spirit of inclusiveness.
