Last month, I mentioned that Donald Trump’s latest trade policies were likely to impact NZ markets. If you’ve checked your KiwiSaver or Super lately, you may have had a rude shock! But at times like this, it’s often best to tune out the noise and let the cycle pass. By all accounts, the U S is battening down the hatches and enduring some short-term pain in the hope of long-term gain. The full impact on NZ markets is yet to be established.

Interestingly, there has been a small uptick in enquiries from the U S. regarding New Zealand’s foreign buyer rules. With the National government currently reviewing foreign ownership regulations, there may yet be a middle ground to be found - despite Winston’s firm opposition to the matter February was a great month for sales in our office My colleague Jono Reeves and I successfully sold two beautiful lifestyle properties in Poroti, with similar listings coming to market soon.
