ASIAN & PACIFIC ISLANDER AMERICAN SCHOLARS

TRANSFORMING FUTURES OF AANHPI STUDENTS NATIONWIDE

APIA Scholars is the nation’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to the academic, personal, and professional success of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) students. Through our commitment to scholarships, higher education research, policy, and student success programs, we strive to provide individuals from underserved communities with the financial resources needed to eliminate barriers and create a more affordable path to college and careers.

OUR IMPACT

Since our inception in 2003, APIA Scholars has awarded

over $150 million in scholarships to over 8,600 students representing 48 distinct ethnicities and 300 languages from all 50 states and U.S. territories

60% of our scholar cohorts are the first in their families to attend college. 65–75% come from low-income households.

THE MOMENT IS NOW. THE NEED IS GREAT.

Despite our efforts, Asian American organizations receive less than 1% of federal funding and corporate giving combined. Currently, we give out an average of $3 million in scholarships each year, but that goes to only about 6% of all applicants, leaving 94% of students unfunded.

OUR VISION

To ensure that all Asian and Pacific Islander Americans have access to higher education and resources that cultivate their academic, personal, and professional success, regardless of their ethnicity, national origin, or financial means.
