In the fast changing landscape of Mumbai, what happens to an identity which is disappearing from public memory? The thesis is concerned with re-introducing to public memory, the evidence of the city’s port-related history through architecture. Through an introduction to public memory, the forgotten Eastern Waterfront of the post-industrial city would be reinvigorated and reclaimed in the physical form of the city.

The vision is to create a plan for alternate lifestyles along the Southbank of London. Using the underutlised infrastructure of the rail and waterfront in Vauxhall as tendons for alternate mobilities embodies the values of re-use and adaptability. Living, recreation and work are balanced in the programmatic mix responding to the economic pressures of the site. Additionally 5 dynamic open spaces with distinct characters act as a structural framework for urbanism to be expressed through different architectures over time.

THE MIDTOWN SOUND

ULI Hines Competition ‘16 Mentors: Claire Hempel, Jessica King, Susan Daniels & Peter Baird Team: Aparajita Bhatt, Neive Tierny, Chris Sailer, Ashwin Dharmadhikari & Robert Paulson The Midtown Sound samples Atlanta’s many rhythms to produce a fresh and cohesive beat rooted in Atlanta’s identity.

The integration of the surrounding cultural context through an interconnected open space network was the primary design device. Three elements give the Midtown Sound its distinctive character: the Culture House, a reimagined Bank of America Plaza, and the redeveloped Torch Tower Square.

University of Texas at Austin Fall 2015 Texas City Lab: City of Leander Instructor: Dean J. Almy III Within the paradigm of designing a compact, walkable and sustainable lifestyle alternative for the City of Leander, my project looked specifically at an innovative solution for development along the 183A toll road in Leander.

The design strategy included a break down of scale for big box retail & commercial development while using 183A as an ecologically performative ‘green line’ connecting the two creeks that flow through the Leander ETJ.
