Greetings, Attached you will find a Call for Programs for the 2010 Male Summit and Leadership Conference. These programs will benefit the Training and Development Team throughout the year by gathering suggested training modules specifically for Alpha Brothers and Non‐Alpha Registrants. Selected programs will further develop, both personally and professionally, those who attend Alpha Phi Alpha’s regional conferences, general conventions and proposed leadership conference and summits. The following are suggested topics of interest which were generated from a survey to the members of Alpha Phi Alpha, and coincide with the mission of the fraternity and the foundation to develop leaders, promote brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities: 1. Develop Leaders a. Personal Development – Work Life balance, etiquette b. Professional Development ‐ resume writing, dressing for success c. Member and Chapter development – Officer training, risk management 2. Personal Development a. Finances – Family estate planning, entrepreneurship b. Health ‐ Nutrition and diet, spiritual, mental and physical health c. Life –goal setting, time management, balance 3. Academic Excellence a. Educational System – Pre‐K, elementary, middle and high school b. Training – vocational, college, post‐secondary education c. Scholarship – Foundations, grant writing, research 4. Advocating for our Communities a. Family – Foster care, single parenthood, relationships b. Philanthropy – MLK Memorial, Educational Foundations c. Activism – Civic engagement, hands on service, Our deadline to collect the Call for Programs is Friday, February 5, 2010. All proposals will be reviewed by the 2010 Summit Program Committee.
