Mother Gross has been the chapter's "Mother in Residence" for more than 30 years and has served as hostess for many national and local Alpha events . . . DID YOU KNOW? RUPERT PICOTT; and, Secretary-Treasurer, CHARLES WALKER THOMAS. Alpha's Historian Dr. CHARLES H. WESLEY is a former Executive Director of this group, founded by Carter G. Woodson . . . LAURELS — to the Brothers of Eta Gamma Chapter (Prairie View A & M University, TX) for capturing the Mrs. Anna Gross President's Greek Scholarship Trophy. The chapter, under the leadership of President FREDDIE ROBERTS, posted the highest academic average of any Greekletter organization during 1 975-76 A huge success is reported from the Wisconsin State Convention, held October 8-9 under the leadership of State Director HOYT HARPER and State President JERRY JOHNSON. Guests included M i d w e s t e r n VP THOMAS D. PAWLEY. Ill; AES "Tiny" BLANTON; and Special Guest STENSON BROADDUS - who was honored for his support of college brothers throughout Alphadom "Devastating" Z e t a Chi Chapter (U of Texas - Arlington) presented several art works to the UTA Library to be hung in the Minorities Cultural Center (Above) Brother MAURISE FERRELL, President of "Devastating" Zeta Chi Chapter (University of Texas - Arlington) and one of five winners of the 1976 Aipha Phi Alpha Scholarship.
