In response to the public's increasing health awareness and the trend of working at home since the post-pandemic era, we hope that KAKA STEPPER allows users complete simple exercise at every nook and corner of the home, also gets them into the habit of exercising.
Exercise easily just by stepping around
KAKA STEPPER is a new kind of stepper that users can move around at home by stepping on it. Users can also complete easy resistance exercises while moving from a spot to another.

The best way to develop a habit is to start with simple actions, gradually and consistently. Based on this, we referred to innovative sports products on the market and summarized the concepts of "Laziness exercise" and "Passive exercise", which we incorporated into the design of KAKA STEPPER.
During the design process, multiple iterations of prototypes were created to develop the model. Additionally, to ensure that the prototype could support the weight of the user, we collaborated with manufacturers and metal welders to develop the necessary mechanisms.
Taking the feeling of home as the starting point of the appearence, we developed three directions of form: sharp edge, sharp curves, and round and full shapes as modeling ideas.
As for the appearance of KAKA STEPPER, we meticulously painted and assembled each plastic shell to cover the internal metal mechanism, adhering to the CMF setting and assembly sequence.
Whenever you are sitting and relaxing in your spare time or standing up doing housework, you can make a habit of exercise easily.
KAKA STEPPER has a mechanism that consists of three main parts: the chain and linkage to move the stepper forward, the tramping structure that increases resistance, and a mechanism that allows users to turn around.
In order to meet the situation of home use, fixed and floating mode can also be switched on the stepper. In addition to moving at home, you can also pedal at a fixed point.
KAKA STEPPER fits into the home environment through its arc and neat shape and mild color matching.
In Taiwan alone, there are 46,000 visually impaired people, and a study by the Vision Loss Expert Group predicts that the global population of people with blindness will triple to 115 million by 2050."

With several observations and interviews, we found that visually impaired individuals often encounter difficulties in distinguishing between dishes when having multi-dish meals, such as bento or cafeteria meals. They frequently have to rely on others for assistance or resort to mixing different dishes into one container.

For many of us, eating can be a pleasurable, but what about those who are visually impaired ?Insight
In the beginning, we interviewed three visually impaired and asked them about their experience of having a meal.
After summarizing their problems and needs, we used Quality Function Deployment (QFD) to select a suitable solution from a more objective perspective. In this case, we identified technical elements such as magnets, concavo-convex shapes, and route design, which we later integrated into our design.
With the insight derived from the QFD result, several idea were thoght up.
We tested prototypes of TOEAT with visually impaired individuals who provided positive feedback and suggested improvements such as moving the bulge to the side and having uniform compartment heights. We modified our design based on this feedback and iterated on our prototypes, leading to the final version of TOEAT.

Revolve is an elegant speaker combined with a diffuser, designed to create a relaxing listening experience that allows busy people to slow down and let their minds rest.

In a fast-paced life, stress and fatigue can leave people feeling breathless. Taking time to slow down and change one's mood to relax is an essential topic for modern individuals.
We took inspiration from images such as sunsets and airplane windows to create an atmosphere through the product's design. We also drew sketches based on these elements to explore the possibilities of the product's form and usage.
We designed REVOLVE as a scented Bluetooth speaker that hangs on the wall for home use. It provides a simple and comfortable way to relax and unwind after a busy day when returning home.

ROCKEY helps children learn independence and sleep better. Connected to a parent's device, it converts ambient sound into soothing light and sound to assist with falling asleep.

Sleep plays a vital role in the growth process of children. However, a few children do not get adequate sleep. As many people have experienced, we found that darkness is a common reason for children to have trouble falling asleep. Therefore, we chose "Fear of darkness" as our topic, surveyed and researched everything related to the topic.
Insight
We discovered that parents encourage their children to sleep alone not only to help them get used to it but also to have some personal time and space for themselves. Thus, the main idea behind ROCKY is to assist children in falling asleep peacefully while allowing parents to avoid being compelled to stay in their children's room every night.
We conducted a questionnaire survey and interviewed parents of several kindergarten students. While there were some special cases, we found that the primary age group that fears the dark is between 4 and 6 years old. We then analyzed the reasons for this fear and what parents do to alleviate the situation, aiming to identify pain points.

During the design process, in addition to conducting the analysis, I personally took charge of creating the working prototype. This involved creating a 3D model as well as designing the circuit using Arduino and modules. After numerous iterations of redoing and coding, we were fortunate enough to create a functioning prototype.
The final method consists of a set of interactive toys accompanied by an app for adults. To use the product, start by unplugging the rocket from its power source. Then, take the rocket to the child's room where it will be used. Next, turn on the device to activate the sound effects. Finally, adjust the activity duration as per preference.
ROCKEY receives the ambient sound in the house, transfer the data to the children's room and turn into lighting changes, let the children knows that there's other members inside the house, they're not alone.

Because the parents and their kids won't be in the same place, we also designed an application to control ROCKEY remotely, simplifying the process and making sure the kids are sleeping peacefully.
Besides the existing bottom on the launcher, it is also feasible to turn on ROCKEY by the application. The animation in the app represents that every single night is a space trip, it's not scary at all.
It is not appropriate for a kid to sleep while the light being turned on through the night according to the research. Therefore, parents can launch the countdown system and set up the time. The light effects of ROCKEY will fade out when the time is up.
For we want relieve the parents, we installed a micro camera on ROCKEY, the parents can not only confirm the status but can also turn off ROCKEY whenever they want, everything is under control.
A tape measure that will never hit your hands.
Araneape is a tape measure for tailors that reduces the danger of injury when finishing its use, as people are often afraid of being hurt by the tape flying back to them.

Araneape aims to design a tape measure for tailor by reduceing the danger automatically. While finishing using a tape measure, people usually be afraid of being hurt by the speedy tape flying back to them.
Sketching, extracting the elements to be conveyed from natural objects. I hope that users can feel the hint of pulling and extracting on Araneape. Therefore, I used the shape of a spider as a reference and hoped to apply the image of a spider spinning silk to the part where the ruler enters and exits. Also, using details on its body to create a sense of a tiny arthropod.
The tape measures we are familiar with contain a core inside, pulling back the tape. And that’s why they are so dangerous. On the contrary, Araneape contains two cores which pull a single tape, making it be safer.Before modeling Araneape, the design went through the process of sketchimg and prototype, while trying to make the most creative design and present the perspective image.

Place "0" in the center of the scale surface and arrange the different units side by side, making it clear at a glance. It can be used on one side or both sides, allowing for intuitive reading or figure addition.
ARANEAPE can be separated into two parts, which are attracted to each other by magnets. There is a pointer in the middle that can correspond to the position of "0", making it easy to align.
New tape-pulling method enables use of soft material for tape measure, allowing for precise measurement of cylinders.
