To satisfy this demand, farmers use more crop protection chemicals. Pesticides are used to control pests that feed on crops and also helps regain the lost nutrients from the soil. Currently, the loss of production yield in crops such as wheat, maize, and corn due to pests is 30%-40% annually. Crop protection products save 25% of all global staple crop from being wasted due to insects, weeds, and diseases. By adopting crop protection products, the total crop yield will increase, and the number of people at the risk of hunger will reduce by more than 90 million by 2050.
