After a study tour to Rajashthan we designed a PYAO in Jodhpur city by studying the climatology, topography, cultural aspects of the city and it’s people. PYAO, a traditional water station where trespassers, tourists halt for refreshment. The main objective was to create an open and inviting atmosphere for the users with a climate responsive approach. Creating a free pathway for the visitors with open entrances.

-THE ROOFING STRUCTURE HAS PUNCTURE FOR THE EXISTING TREE, THUS KEEPING THE TREE UNDISTURBED.

-PYAO IS THE MAIN ELEMENT WHICH IS CENTRALLY PLACED ON THE SITE.

-THE CONSTANT FLOWING WATER FROM THE WATER STATION CREATES GOOD ACOUSTICS.

-FOUNTAIN PLACED AT THE MIDDLE OF WATER STATION KEEPS THE COURTYARD COOL.

-INTERSECTING 2 SEMI-CIRCULAR ARCH TO FORM A POINTED ARCH.

-ARCADE OF ARCHES FOR THE USERS TO INCREASES THE SOCIAL CONNECTIVITY DUE TO BARRIER FREE ENVIRONMENT.

-THE WATER FLOWING FROM THE PYAO CAN BE USED FOR MULTIPLE TASKS LIKE FOR DRINKING PURPOSE, FOOTBATHS, FOR REFRESHMENT.

PROJECT INTENSION

In response to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, It was a necessity to build a high-end Medical Facility to treat patients in quick time. Using Octagon modules which are highly versatile, pre-engineered modular system, this facility was quickly designed and can be dismantled in no time, with limited man power and quick assembly.

Realizing the urgency to improve living conditions of the city’s working classes in the aftermath of this plague, BDD was established to provide better and more hygienic accommodations for the city’s growing working classes.

The BDD chawls were built between 1920-1925 and thus represent the state’s rst interventions in public housing. The combination of well planned and organized buildings, arranged around a handful of small open spaces of an economically marginal neighbourhood.

Claude Monet was a modern painter. inspired by naturalistic form and style of water lily. His work was said to be inuenced by the different ways in which objects would look depending on the time of the day.

The paintings depicted the light not obviously to the viewer, but is fully represented in how it affects the object in paintings.

Naturalistic both in the form of colour and light. Ambition was to create a panorama to envelope the viewer

The project aims to revive traditional public library while providing a conducive learning and interactive social space. Library needs to be transformed as an active social space. A public library is just not a space to access physical and digital data but also create an environment to initiate interaction of people and exchange of ideas among all people of diverse backgrounds and age groups visiting the library. Design to maintain the visual axis from a sunken space of communal gathering through a glass aperture opening towards the existing topography; to enhance the experience of a reader, observer and interaction of urban space with the city. The idea is to achieve complexity by merging simpler build forms.

A space which reects the idea of Inclusivity for the proposed community centre for the kolhapur craft community of leather matts and the local neighbourhood people, an opportunity to create a platform of facilitation and empowerment of the user group. The design encourages exibility to the main spaces to be able to host a variety of activities as per the need in the local scenario. The overall design environment organizes a communal experience and interaction amongst the various participatory groups at the centre.

DURING RAINS THE WATER DRIPPING DOWN THROUGH THE BAMBOO FRAME REACHES THE CREEPERS ON THE PARAPET WALLS

THE LEATHER ABSORBS PERSPIRATION WHICH IS A FACTORY OF COMFORT THE EXCESS WATER ON THE SURFACES DRIPS DOWN AND MAKES THE LEATHER MORE FLEXIBLE.
