Agung Budi Sardjono, M.T. Copyright: EC00202363168 / 000496109 (Pangkalan Data Kekayaan Intelektual) The rapid development of cities requires good and appropriate urban planning. However, poor city planning resulted in lost space in various corners of the city, which actually has great potential to be developed and used properly. This thesis aims to explore how to utilize the potential of lost space through urban interiority - based design, with a focus on the design of interchanges in the middle of dense office and commercial areas.

The method used in the preparation of this thesis programming is to use an urban interiority approach, specifically using the concept of urban living room by utilizing context. An exploratory qualitative method was used in this study, context reading and possibilities catalog were utilized to make the program. The purpose of this thesis is to utilize the existing lost space by maximizing the activities that already exist in the contex. The location of this final project design is in the Kuningan area, along Jalan Prof. Dr. Satrio.

The location of this final project design is in the Kuningan area, along Jalan Prof. Dr. Satrio. The first survey conducted involved using Google Maps to identify the surrounding area, including the functions of buildings within the context, public facilities such as zebra cross, bus stops, and several other public amenities along Prof.

Dr. Satrio Road.

Next, offline identifications were conducted. This survey aims to understand better about the context that cannot be obtain using online tools.

In order to have a facility that could fit a variety of changing activities, I created a modular system using scaffolding. Some examples of them are as shown below. Each module have a unique activity which can be done inside, but as a systems, it can create much bigger things in the future. All of them should be able to be combined to make a bigger module, according to the space available and what kind of activities will be done.

What I design is the physical form of the urban living room concept, which results from reading the context – adjusting to user needs – which ultimately results in this work. I designed this with the intention that this work will be used in the future as an urban

living room, which functionally can change according to habits, culture, future user needs so as to allow adjustments to the physical form of this work, but still carry out its basic function – to become urban living room – a comfortable space for the public.

This condition is caused by several factors, one of which is the problem of illiteracy in some areas. As many as 1.71% or 2,961,060 people from the total population of Indonesia still cannot read and write. The lack of reading materials and inappropriate literacy practices are also the causes of the low reading culture of the Indonesian people. The most important factor causing this problem is the lack of library facilities.

What about indigenous people?

There are a small number of indigenous people who choose to stay away from modernization and the progress of the times, to remain firm in holding on to customary regulations that are continuously guarded and preserved by indigenous people. One of them is the Baduy Tribe.

The habit of living communally is the basis of everyday life.

Integrating libraries into the daily lives of the Baduy community. Through an analysis of the activities, characteristics, and habits of the Baduy community, a suitable place was found to be used as a library. The terrace.

The first prototype is located in Gajeboh Village, Baduy Luar. It is an area bordering Baduy Luar and Baduy Dalam. As a prototype, this library concept is designed to be applied in various places of the Baduy Tribe. The mate-

Ruang Riung is expected to not only serve as a residential function, but also facilitate transitional spaces and gathering points as a communal space through the application of a porosity concept. Thus, Ruang Riung can also facilitate students in general, not only residents of the rusun, as an urban living room.

The porosity concept is also the basis for the application of ecological and energy-saving concepts. The building is designed to allow for the optimization of rainwater absorption systems into the ground, free-flowing air circulation, and natural lighting that can illuminate certain spaces.

There are 2 types of rooms: a 21-square-meter room for 1 student, and a 36-square-meter room for 2 students with a balcony. All rooms have shading devices outside the windows.

There is an open communal area on each floor that can be used by everyone and to maximize air circulation.

The materials used in the landscape consist of crushed brick for communal spaces and activities of residents, and split stone for public services. The use of these materials allows the soil to continue to absorb water.

The shape of the roof is maximized for rain water harvesting on the roof, which is then processed and reused for flushing toilets and landscape areas.

The configuration of 21-square-meter and 36-square-meter rooms is arranged in a random order so that residents mix and form a community.

In areas that are always exposed to sunlight, the right shading system is required so that areas with high solar radiation can still be comfortable.

The long duration of sunlight can reduce the use of artificial light by incorporating natural sunlight into the building.

The building mass pattern allows the wind to be broken before reaching the central area of the building.

The air temperature is between 21 and 24 degrees Celsius. With proper spatial planning, at this temperature, it is possible not to use air conditioning.

The construction stages consist of 2 stages. Stage 1 is 2 small towers and landscape.

The construction stages of the tower are considered based on the gender of the residents and the adjustment of budget determination.

What do people see when they search for images of train stations?

Train stations are infrastructures that serve as a place for trains to depart or stop.

When people search for images of train stations on the internet, what is the first thing that is captured by the human eye? To simplify the program, the station to be designed is a KRL station.

Tebet Station is one of the busiest KRL stations in Jakarta. According to data from 2017, the daily users of Tebet Station reached up to 70,000 users (krl.co.id,2017). The trains that pass through Tebet Station are electric com-

muter trains (KRL) on the Bogor line, which is the busiest KRL line. This line starts with the starting station of Bogor Station or Nambo and the end destination of Jakarta Kota Station, and vice versa.

The main users of Tebet Station are workers who use KRL as their main mode of transportation as well as a transit point to use other modes of transportation. With the busiest hours of the station in the morning and evening, Monday-Friday. The main destinations of users are Kasablanka and Kuningan, as well as Kampung Melayu.

The first thing to do is to conduct a contextual study. The results of mapping the area around the station, it was found that in the area around the station there are many restaurants, cafes, and commercial shops. So it can be concluded that Tebet Station does not need restaurants or cafes as an attraction, but will only be a complement to the station if they are present. What is felt is needed is a place to gather or rest that is open or public space as well as integrated transportation facilities.

Then, a search for images was conducted through 2 image-based search engines: Google Image, and Pinterest. The purpose of conducting an image search is to determine people’s perception when searching for stations on the two search engines. The search results are processed with tracing to emphasize the shape or pattern of the image.

A recurring pattern was found in the form of a centralized pattern and a diagonal field. The centralized pattern is a line that converges at one point, and the diagonal field is a tiered line or forms a field. Both become keywords to be used as the basis for the design.

The mass configuration and site processing are based on the keywords that have been found. The centralized pattern is applied to the arrangement of the site and the placement of facilities, and the diagonal field is used for further site development, and is developed into surface layering that is applied to the building mass.

Kontrakan Pak Kadir Location: Utan Kayu Selatan, Matraman, Jakarta, Indonesia Year: 2022 Category: Internship - Rent House Mentor - Architect: Fedy Trinugroho Adi

Pak Kadir’s rental house is a 3-door rental house with a design that maximizes the existing walls. This project is located on Jalan Galur Sari IV. The client of this project, Pak Kadir, is the family of the client Je Feriasthama who built a house right next to the rental location.

The existing condition is a 1-story house with a small laundry room on the 2nd floor. The site location is flanked by two houses owned by the client’s family. In the initial draft plan, an area at the back was provided as a connecting area between the two flanking houses, but in the final draft, the space was removed so that the entire site area was maximized for rental purposes.

I joined this project from the early design stage to the early construction stage. When I first joined the project, there was a rough preliminary design that then had to be changed to adjust to the results of the re-measurement of the existing conditions. The process of designing the floor plan underwent many changes to adjust to the client’s wishes. Finally, construction has begun with the reinforcement of the foundation for the implementation of the new design which is now 2 floors.
