Current and vital needs of our students as the main objectives • insecurities concerning their education and employment • how to cope with those issues • young people’s presence in the virtual world • issues of prejudice and social exclusion

With this project we aim to: • raise students’ hopes for successful careers • reduce the stigma of social and personal failure • improve attainment in basic and transversal skills, especially entrepreneurship • encourage multilingualism and develop digital skills • teach critical thinking, problem solving, risk assessment and decision taking • reinforce intercultural awareness • raise awareness of women’s influence on European citizenship development • draw attention to the problem of unjust treatment of genders

Why have we chosen the topic of women? • we come from different cultural and social backgrounds

• the attitude towards women is different in our countries

• the problem of unjust treatment of genders is still present in the 21st century

• women’s achievements and contribution towards European citizenship is underestimated and deserves much more appreciation

The best platform for our project activities is Twinspace in eTwinning https://twinspace.etwinning.net/2456/home

There we can upload: • detailed instructions for each activity • schedules • minutes of teachers’ meetings • description of completed tasks • photos and videos • surveys • dissemination results • links • pedagogical manuals for teachers with examples of good practice in partner countries

Why do we use twinspace in eTwinning? • it is free of charge and easy to access • it is easy to use (intuitive) • it can be used as a project journal • all the materials and documents are stored there and can be accessed at any time • it helps to coordinate the project and disseminate it • we used Twinspace in our previous Comenius project: “A Vision for Europe in the 21st Century”

Twinspace makes it easier for: • partners to communicate and make contribution to the project • school coordinators to draw up interim and final reports • project coordinators to better manage the project • experts to evaluate the project • other users to replicate the ideas and/or activities • teachers, parents, educators to learn about the project and activities carried out at school

• new students to get more information about the school they consider to choose (attractiveness of the school)

Parents’ involvement in the project • interviewees in videos prepared by students

• hosts parents for international students during the meeting in Częstochowa

• personal memories and experience given in the film “Through the Eyes of a Woman” • source of information about the life in the past

Headteacher’s help and support by: • encouraging teachers to apply for different projects in European educational programmes (Socrates, Comenius, Erasmus+) • encouraging students to participate in the projects • promoting projects and their results on the school webpage • promoting projects among city authorities, educational bodies and the media • providing substitution for teachers going to international meetings and workshops • appreciating teachers’ work and their contribution to the credibility and attractiveness of the school in the community

Encountered problems More students would like to travel than we can possibly take. Different school schedules (holidays, school breaks) make it difficult to set the dates for international meetings and workshops.

Current political and social situation (frequent terrorist attacks) in Turkey made us reschedule the project. Instead of going with students to Istanbul we have decided to organize bilateral meetings to complete all the activities and enable the remaining students to go to international workshops. As a result, our project has been prolonged until 30 of November, 2016.

A language barrier discourages teachers of other subjects from taking a more active part in the project; they help but do not want to go to international meetings
