Antonio Conde Garrido

Hello!

My name is Antonio Conde Garrido, recently graduated in architecture and specialized in UX Design master’s degree. I am actually trying to figure out how to combine both to develop better projects This is a portfolio where you can see a selection of my most recent work and images related to architecture. During this years I focalized my skills and passion through arch visualization, a tool which I found really interesting to communicate my own ideas and also other people’s works.

In my work I always tried to focus my efforts in explaining the different stages of the design processes through drawings and sketches; from hand-drawing-simple ideas to complex and final renders images. Through the year of developing this skill, I have always been studying and researching tools, books, papers and art exhibitions with the only intention to educate my vision combining my two big passions: architecture and art.

For this reason I found mandatory to learn about new softwares and techniques that would help me to develope better images allowing me to explain my ideas.

The reason I did my master in UX is mainly because I found architecture really needs the process of constant deliberation and iteration to make better projects. Thanks to the processes of UX design I realized that understanding the context, the user needs and how the project affect the environment have a deep impact on everybody’s life

Introduction

The program of the project was simple. Designing a public library that suplies the cultural needs neighborhood.

The promenade only offers a place to walk and rest, but lacks of others sevices really significant for the citizens: public and cultural services.

This area of the historical city of Granada was developed in the earlies of XIX century based on french inspiration; this promenade was inspired by avenues and gardens that we found in the victorian streets of Paris. Over time the city growed and many residential block and infraestructure appeared but in a disjointed way.

With the growth of the city the area didn’t developed the basic necesities that a modern area really needs.

In this scenario the school proposes a joint place where two neighborhoods concur, being a good place to provide the service for both places and being a point of reference in the urban grid.

The Alhambre and Realejo area both are located in the mountain above so for the city planing is complex to provide the project, so this location is the perfect spot for both realities: the urban and plain grid of the modern city and the convoluted and intrincate grid of the city in the ancient neighborhood of Realejo near the Alhambra palace complex above.

A NEW PLACE TO LEARN, SCHOOL IN SENEGAL Location: Marssasoum, Senegal Subject: Competiton project with partner Laura G.R.

The project has two main objectives. First being an affordable and replicable building which does not suposse a huge investment for the local community.

Secondly providing to the student a comfortable and a grateful place during the day wherever they spend their tiome, in the courtyard playing with friends or attending classes.

We wanted to design the project with a minimal and a simple esthetic (avoiding any ornament) to mantain as low as possible trying to provide the best spaces and utilities for the kids.

The program of the project tried to develope a museum and a interpretation center in the border area of Alhama in Granada province, Spain.

The main objective was to create a museum near at ruin of a school to reactivate the area and improve the cultural catalogue of the city.

Through the investigation and study of the context of a neighborhood of Granada the objetive was really clear. Research comes to a design.

As a group we studied different variables that occur in the area: map os noises, paths that people make in the own lives, density. This variables give us the possibility to understando ther area and develope a project acording to this context, creating a better design thanks to understanding and research.
