As the season changing, we all getting more attention to the next movement of the fashion industry, during SS21 season, Covid-19 was outbreaking, which gives us a different experience with the social distances runway show and intimate appointments with digital event also the lookbook shots, in order to bringing hope, designers decided to inject more joyful colors into the clothing, and now I’m gonna introduce the most five trendy colors in SS21 collections.

THE IMPORTANCE OF COLOR IN FASHION

Color is the first thing other people notice about us, its impact is directly and long-lasting, our choice to the color reflect a lot how we convey emotion, identity and meaning, it’s important that the brands adopt a color strategy to conveys their core values to the consumers, but how this abstract things communicated to the consumers through the reality? The answer is “fashion”.

Season change a lot, in order to keep up with the fast-paced fashion color expectations, they divided into two seasons-spring/summer and fall/winter collections, but some brands are still experimenting with additional fashion seasons, this allows designer to experiment with color and trends, and extend the color trend from three-months into six-month, fashion industry already change the calendar itself, to satisfy as many customers as possible.

TELLING THE STORY BEHIND THE COLOR It’s important of the color take into the brand story, there is often a story, a painting, an artist, or a mood and inspiration of why we pick the colors or use them in certain combinations for a particular season, because story is driving for color choosing, it make garments alive, fashion designer attempted to creating compelling content and immersive stories to attract people, when consumers participate in storytelling, it means that customers are connected with brand and increase the brand loyalty too.

MARIGOLD YELLOW When we asked about the inspiration for their spring collections, designers looked to the future optimistically.

The popular marigold yellow popular on the spring show not only reflects the designer’s hope for the future, but also reminds the audience in casual clothes of the fun of dressing. In fact, the sunny yellow is one of Pantone’s 2021 colors of the year This color is suitable paired with warm colors like red, orange and caramel brown.

The bold shade was also a popular color choice for spring hottest jewelry, footwear, and accessories.

CHERRY RED (SCARLET) The Cherry red, a vibrant, classic and fun shade that can associated with courage, passion, heat, playful and elegant, it gave the precise brushstrokes to enhance and emphasize in different collections, this tone was shared in many catwalks and somehow managed to bring the rest of the tone together in a more harmonious way. This color is suit for everyone, it can paired with neutral color, like chocolate brown or warm earthy palette..

SKY BLUE Due to coronavirus restrictions in hard-hit cities like New York and Milan, designers drew renewed inspiration from the outdoors. It’s associated with trustworthy and reliability also is promote the feelings of tranquility.Also sky blue is brought a breath of fresh air to streetwear and casual tailoring, it’s accented with bright pops of pink, yellow and orange colors.

MINT GREEN For hope, fertility, and rebirth, this particularly fresh green embodies all these feelings, when someone’s is attracted to the color green, that’s mean they are calling in growth, expansion, determination, focus, ambition and goals.To me green can in coordinate with all kinds of colors, it make every outfit you wear stand out. most of influencers may wearing this green with pinks or blues, in spring/summer 2021 runway, we also saw models match green with red too, this combination is the most classic, it is also one of the representative color combinations of Gucci. To this year from Bottega Veneta to Prada, green has been a central theme in designer’s collections.

Pink is a bold hue comes in a variety of shades, it was one of the most prominent color trends for spring 2021.

Although this color has been associated with femininity for a long time, it was given a new identity in time, it’s the spirit of breaking norms, it tend to be non-conformist, weird but aesthetic. As for the color paired it’s suitable to paired with red , yellow and basic color that can stand out to the pink. This is the most favorite using color to designers in spring/summer, because it can catch people attention it bring more spotlight on their collections.

CONCLUSION Nowadays colors of the year has become increasingly influential in the vast world of design and brand marketing, most of people will wearing clothes depends on the in the quarantine, it still can’t resist people to pursue the trend of fashion, in the beginning I thought it would tend to be a dark hue of all the SS collections because of the low and depression circumstances of the fashion industry, until the fashion week it showed me I was wrong, pandemic didn’t let people down, on the contrary they turned this predicament into strength, and reflected their hope to their clothes, praying for the brighter future, I think this is a power of the fashion, demonstrate what people thought and their emotions through the works, hoped after the pandemic designers can bring more outstanding works and colors to everyone in the future.
