SMART EMERGENCY LIGHTING–BUILDING ENHANCEMENT

Emergency lighting has been around for 40+ years. Technology has evolved at an exponential rate, but Emergency Lighting hasn’t followed at the same pace. Find out the benefits of networked monitoring for single- and multi-building setups.

The latest innovation and future of emergency lighting technology will be discussed in this presentation.

This session is presented by Kevin Smee, Vice-President of Sales with Aimlite., and sponsored by

USING THERMAL COMFORT TOOLS TO EVALUATE DISCOMFORT PROBABILITIES DUE TO ENCLOSURE DESIGN AND CHOICES IN HVAC SYSTEMS

Applying the principles learned in Course 1 and 2, and using various online and PC-based tools, participants will be taken through a case study where three enclosure performances and two HVAC system types are evaluated for compliance with ASHRAE 55 “Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy”.

This seminar is presented by Robert Bean, President of Indoor Climate Consulting Inc. and Director of www.healthyheating.com, and sponsored by

WHAT SHOULD DRIVE THE SUSTAINABILITY BUS... INDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY OR ENERGY?

Efficiency programs seem to ignore the fact that the only reason society uses energy in buildings is to condition people and generate domestic hot water. One would then think that all design ought to begin with the physiological and psychological needs of occupants.

However, in the real world, most energy efficiency programs focus exclusively on enclosures and equipment, and have superficial IEQ requirements. The hope is that the assembled systems will deliver the desired indoor climate with the modeled energy. The flaws in this approach are demonstrated in the poor results from thousands of post occupancy evaluations.

Following this workshop, participants will learn the human sciences behind thermal comfort and air quality, and how energy and exergy efficiency is the natural outcome from engineering the indoor environment using human factor design tools.

This seminar is presented by Robert Bean, President of Indoor Climate Consulting Inc. and Director of www.healthyheating.com, and sponsored by

As the largest tradeshow east of Montreal and the second-largest event for industry in the nation, it should come as no surprise that innovation is a hallmark among The MEET Show’s sponsors and exhibitors.

And what better way to recognize their achievements than through MEET’s Innovation Awards.

“We feel it’s important to give credit where credit is due,” said Mike Patterson, MEET Show chair, back in 2010 when the Innovation Awards were launched.

“We are extremely pleased with the high caliber nominations that were received for our inaugural 2010 MEET Innovation Awards, and the winners definitely demonstrate innovation at its finest in North America.”

Were you around in 2010? Curious who took top honours? Wonder no more! Back then, the inaugural recipients were: Fluke Electronics, Viessmann Mfg. Co. Inc., Magic Lite Ltd., and Mycom Canada.

Fast forward to the last MEET Show (2018, pre-pandemic), and the Innovation Award honorees included: Filtration Plus Ltd., Bosch Thermotechnology, Stelpro Design, and Axis Lighting.

Who will reign supreme in post-pandemic 2022? Attend The MEET Show and, together, we’ll celebrate “innovation at its finest”.
