ANIDAR Restaurant GOLDFINCH CENTER

about ME
Public spaces have always held a peculiar significance to me as someone who has overcome agoraphobia. Art, architecture, and their history have been passionate interests of mine since before I can remember and through design I am able to continuously learn about and build upon this vast body of creative work. I believe balancing artistry, functionality, novelty and safety in our built environment makes the world easier and more joyful to navigate.
By focusing on designing universally for all people and applying research and creativity to the planning and construction of positive, immersive spaces I hope to inspire and empower people to confidently interact with the world in all of the beautiful and complex ways that I was once so afraid to.

It features a selection of local art, books and games that promote wildlife and environmental science education, and merchandise fundraising for local non-profits that focus on preserving Central Florida ecologies.

Referencing local geography and the West Virginia tradition of quilting, the Goldfinch Center serves to stitch together a community from the diverse cultures and identities that make up the fabric of Morgantown and WVU, creating a space of comfort and warmth, providing a sturdy backing of support for those at their most threadbare, and helping to fabricate a wide network of social and professional bonds

A sample of my works in fine and culinary arts

Through several years spent working in a variety of commercial kitchens, I started to see the injuries, turnover rates, efficiency and service quality as a sort of choreography orchestrated by the design of the spaces and their fixtures. This solidified in me the understanding of just how much design shapes our daily lives.
My experience and knowledge of the food industry provides a back-of-house perspective to my design work that I believe will help positively shape the days of every user in a space.
I hope going through this portfolio has been a positive experience as well, and I appreciate your taking the time to review it!
Thank you!
