About The Hospital Campus
Concept -Ecotone
A transition area where different habitats meet and overlap. The urban fabric and harbour front promenade meet and overlap with the Kai Tak Hospital Complex landscape
The hospital complex forms by mainly 6 building blocks including an newly built Childrens Hospital. All buildings are connected by subways, multi-level bridges and landscaped decks. These also link the hospital to the local community and the waterfront promenade.

Wall Type Analysis Summary - 16/F In-Patient Room
There are five types of curtain wall designs for the 16/F in-patient room. The performance of solar gain and daylight penetration are varied, which aim to achieve the balance between overheat gain and too many obstructions blocking the views to the outside.

Greenspace Calculations - G/F Greenspace + Elevated Greenspace
There are totally 3 nos. of control for greenery requirement:
a) Recommended Outline Development Plan KTD (RODP); b) PNAP APP-152; and c) DEVB TC(W) No.3/2012.
Under the Government requirement, there are certain % of greenspace need to be provided in the project, which includes greenspace on different levels and open spaces that allow public access (Terrace / Sky Garden). Overall 30% and at grade 20% of total site area will be observed.
Overall 30% and at-grade 20% of total site area will be observed.
OVERALL SITE AREA = 53,500 sq.m.

Rehabilitaion Room Renovation
These are the ideas taken from some other existing elderly centres or nursing homes, which will be incorporated into the design of this project.
Before Renovation
The existing condition of the rehabilitation room was old and messy. Facilities were placed on the shelf and around the walls—a lot of loose items lying around.
Proposed Renovation Scheme
A rehabilitation facility is located in the nursing home. These facilities provide skilled nursing care and physical, occupational, and speech therapies. The main goal of rehabilitation for the elderly is to improve their quality of life. Their lifestyle can become more vibrant with the ability to do more and experience less pain. By participating in physical, speech or occupational therapy, they will work on reaching a higher level of wellness.

Sensory Integration
Sensory Integration In Corridor
After Renovation
Colour, textures and temperature play different roles in sensation. This makes the boring long corridor functional and useful.

Sensory Integration
A simple design and space-saving fixture can be handy. This is one of the rehabilitation furniture designed to help lift the leg at different heights.
The design takes the cultural elements from traditional restaurants in Hong Kong. This is an excellent way to evoke memories from the past.
