Francisc Chiuariu b. 1966, Sibiu, Romania
Francisc Chiuariu is one of the most significant contemporary Romanian painters that emerged right after the fall of the communist regime. A representative of the present directions in painting, Chiuariu studied with Professor Florin Ciubotaru at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, where he also taught between 1993 and 2000. The artist has developed a unique creative identity, distinctive with its mixture of traditional media and unconventional materials, techniques or surfaces. In his artistic practice he combines on multiple levels photorealism with neoexpressionism, acrylic with typographic ink, urban iconographies with abstract areas. His works have spotted attention in local auctions, reaching a strong, stable price, as well as in exhibitions in Moscow, Liverpool or Tel-Aviv, and are held in private collections from Romania, France, Russia, Switzerland, Israel, Canada and South Africa. He lives and works in Bucharest, where he has been represented by AnnArt Gallery since 2011, with two personal exhibitions (Shadows in 2012 and The Circle Theory in 2013) and six group ones.

Francisc Chiuariu ist einer der bedeutendsten zeitgenössischen rumänischen Künstler, seit dem Sturz des kommunischtischen Regimes. Er ist ein Vertreter der aktullen Trends in der Malerei, Chiuariu studierte bei Prof. Florin Ciubotaru an der Nationalen Kunstuniversität für Kunst in Bukarest, Rumänien und war von 1993 bis 2000 dort Dozent. Er hat eine unverwechselbare kreativ Identität, durch Verbindung traditioneller Medien und Techniken, Materialien oder unkonventionellen....In der Praxis kombiniert er Fotorealismus mit Neo-Expressionismus, Acryl und Druckfarbe, urbane Ikonografien mit abtraskten Flächen. Seine Werke traten bei lokalen Auktionen hervor , wo sie hohe Preise erzielten und bei Ausstellungen. In Moskau, Liverpool, Tel-Aviv , Wien und befinden sich auch in privaten Sammlungen in Rumänien, Frankreich, Russland, Schweiz, Israel, Kanada und Südafrika. Francisc Chiuariu lebt und arbeitet in Bukarest, wird seit 201 von der AnnArt Gallery vertreten, wo er 3 Einzelausstellungen hatte (Shadows in 2012, Teoria Cercului in 2013 und Privire de Sus in 2016) und auch an Gruppenausstellungen teil nimmt.
