HOLMES BEACH – With Mayor-elect Judy Titsworth ready to take the reins at city hall, commissioners and city hall staff joined together to say goodbye to outgoing Mayor Bob Johnson during his final commission meeting Nov. 13. Bradenton Beach kicked off the holidays Saturday night by lighting up its Christmas tree in the roundabout next to the pier parking lot on Bridge Street. Deb and Mat Myers, of Bridge Street Interiors, decorated the tree. City Commisioner Ralph Cole said they intend to get an even larger tree in coming years. HOLMES BEACH – Former mayoral candidate Joshua Linney is no stranger to scrutiny when it comes to his past and military service record, however the latest round of inquiry is coming from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Special Agent Doug Williams with the criminal investigation division of the department, contacted The Sun saying that he’s investigating Linney for fraud and misrepresentation of his time in the service of the U.S. Army. Though Williams didn’t go into the specifics of the charges, he said he felt confident in the case he’s building against Linney. SEE LINNEY, PAGE 31
