The Lotus Hotel is a 50-key boutique hotel renovation in historic Diamond Head State Park Special District, adjacent to a volcano cone and Waikiki Beach. Working with a local developer, the team gut renovated the hotel while maintaining the original facade and complying with the special district’s code. Guestrooms are warm and simple with all custom-designed and built furniture. The guestrooms and amenities spaces were designed to each have aspects of hospitality and home, and familiar materiality and home-like objects and within all spaces.
The team crafted a unique ambiance for the amenity floors of a boutique hotel, characterizing them as eclectic and inviting. We curated a collection of residentialstyle furniture, which we exclusively designed and custom-built to create a warm and homey atmosphere. A consistent material palette was applied throughout, seamlessly matching the tone of the guest rooms, resulting in a harmonious and cohesive design that enhances the overall guest experience
In the hotel’s food and lounge areas, we worked on connecting the sunroom dining, bar dining, main dining, library, and lounge spaces. My role was in 3D modeling, the SD, DD, and CD sets, millwork drawings, and photoshopped plans and elevations. I worked closely with all consultants and led CA for this project.
As a part of the design process, I drafted interior elevations for comprehensive design documentation. These drawings showcased the layout and spatial arrangement of various elements within the spaces and highlighted specific design details, such as custom millwork, fixtures, and materials. executed in the final built environment.
The Lotus guest rooms are small and refined, with all custom furniture and added elements of hospitality. We completed a model room of a guest unit, built off-site, in April of 2023. After the model room was built, the team focused on mockups for public spaces and procurement.

Not every piece was treated with the exact same process, but most pieces and architectural details benefitted from study at multiple scales through multiple mediums. Each piece in the hotel was custom, including lighting, casegoods, beds, tables, and window treatments. The team worked with a purchasing agent and custom furniture fabricator to complete over 100 pieces.

This Miami home was a thoughtful response to the unique needs of a family with a deep appreciation for art. The clients, a family of six with a substantial art collection, sought a home that seamlessly blended their passion for art with a design that featured natural materials and an open floor plan. The project also aimed to provide a flexible living environment for their growing family.
My role on this project was in all phases. I assisted in 3D modeling, drafting the DD set, working with consultants and presenting to clients.
The first floor is a blend of functionality, artful elements, and seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces. Upon entry, a sculptural stairway serves as an artistic focal point. The open-concept living and dining area unifies the space, complemented by warm wood elements, high ceilings, and expansive windows. Adjacent, a well-appointed bar features art display space. The detached fitness center enjoys scenic water views through large windows, maintaining visual cohesion with the main living areas. Finally, the floor extends to the outdoor pool and beach bar area, where the same stone flooring connects indoor and outdoor spaces.
The second floor of the Miami residence consists of five bedrooms: one primary bedroom and four kids’ bedrooms. This level maintains the same material palette as the first floor, with chiseled dark stone flooring and warm wood accents. The primary bedroom is a standout with a custom fireplace, pendant lighting sourced from an artist, and space for additional artwork displays throughout the room. Additionally, a staircase on this floor leads to the rooftop deck, providing an outdoor space with panoramic views of Miami.
The primary bedroom is minimal with room for texture and sourced artwork. It includes a midnight kitchen with a contemporary design, two closets for ample storage, and a large bedroom area with a comfortable seating group and concealed TV. The custom bed and headboard are upholstered in soft suede, creating a cozy atmosphere. The design emphasizes cool tones for a calm ambiance and incorporates warm textures for added comfort. We worked with local vendors on a custom textured plaster and suede.
Material consistency, along with high ceilings and open spaces, ensures that each room shares a common language, enhancing the flow and visual connection between the different areas of the home. This repetition of design elements and materials fosters a sense of continuity and balance in the overall design.

An Upper East Side residence for a family with four young children combines traditional architectural detailing with both traditional and contemporary touches of furniture. The residence is two stories in a protected apartment building and was gut renovated to reallocate interior space. The team selected all new finishes, flooring, furniture and plumbing and lighting fixtures.
The residence is divided by floor into living rooms and bedrooms. The first floor contains the kitchen, living room, breakfast room, dining room, powder room, exercise room, and nanny’s room.
The living spaces were designed to be monochromatic by material selection. The library is all wood cladding, stepping into an entirely clad space with a contemporary lighting fixture, whereas other rooms were painted all cream with cream millwork. We restored the fireplace with a dark marble.
The kids rooms blended traditional detailing with fun wallpaper and wallcoverings. Elements of all the kids’ rooms were repeated, with the same closet and millwork language, with a distinct flair for each, whether by color, wallpaper, or tone of fabric selection. I worked on FFE selection and millwork drawings. I rendered the elevations in Photoshop and rendered the 3D views in Enscape and Sketchup.
The kids’ rooms were an opportunity to use color in small but impactful wayseach had the same custom fringe pulls with a different color.
