GROUP PROJECT (2 POEPLE)
PROFESSOR: TRACEY LOSTON
Designed to balance emergency efficiency with staff well-being, this facility places the apparatus bay on the east for quick access and public spaces on the west. The second floor houses staff living areas with a rear terrace, while the site offers amenities like a gym and a classroom. All work presented here was created by me. My duties included project scheduling, communication with representatives, and the design of key elements.

«In the Trees» features a fully off-grid bike workshop designed with a focus on sustainability and urban resilience. The design uses a timber framing structure on helical piles. Features such as cork cladding, bamboo flooring, solar power, and a closed-loop water system help keep the structure secure. Recycled materials and minimal site impact support an eco-conscious approach.

SPRING 2025 INDIVIDUAL PROJECT
PROFESSOR: PIETRO FERRARI
The Diomede Islands lie between two nations, two days, and two worlds, seemingly remote, yet vibrating with the gathered presence of life. The islands are not blank. They hold echoes of communities past and present, of explorers crossing the strait, of movements across ice and sea, of borders drawn and resisted, of silence that was never truly empty.
Inception can be different, but nothing ends with form, it resonates. Here, āechoā is not merely sound; it is the conveyed energy of human presence, of environmental rhythms, of stories that resist full disappearance. The landscape remembers, even when the world looks away. Before encountering the space, explore its story, feel the echo. Be shaped by that energy regardless of whether it is desired or not.
Listen rather than disrupt. This is a subtle gesture of respect: a park without markers, a crossing without a bridge. Observe, do not conquer. This is unity, untouched and authentic.

āThat is beautiful which is produced by the inner need, which springs from the soul.ā -
Wassily Kandinsky
Inspired by the pipe organ, The Valves stands as a grid of shadows where light is scarce. Yet, a pulse remains. We cannot wait for the air to flow on its own; we must be the force that breathes life and sound into this complex
machine.

Metropolis: Work in Progress...
Fritz Langās 1927 sci-fi masterpiece, Metropolis, depicts a dystopian future split between elite "thinkers" in luxury high-rises and oppressed workers in the underground depths.
The story follows Freder, the son of the cityās master, who becomes a āmediatorā between this class divide after falling for Maria, a saintly figure for the workers. Central to the film is Maria's retelling of the Tower of Babel; she uses the biblical story as an allegory for the city's own discord, illustrating how the "head" (planners) and "hands" (builders) failed to communicate.
In the contemporary urban centers, just like in the film, we face a tragic paradox: people speak the same language but do not understand each other, which inevitably leads to conflicts and wars.
In the contemporary world a āMediatorā is a necessity. Architecture visualizes the series of life in a contemporary city, where a search for a new force is needed to help bridge polar views. Human would act as a connecting link between divided parts of society, calling for peace and unity.

Monday (The Tower Construction)
Tuesday (In The Skies)
Friday (The Wrong Way)
Saturday (Humanity)
Wednesday (The Disconnect)
Sunday (The Celebration)
Thursday (The Collapse)
Seven continents. Seven pavilions. One unified experience at the heart of Earthās most celebrated ecostems.

Refering to Monday as a first day of construction. Positive and uplifting emotions achieved with the help of a large amont of light, some lifting up and expansion of space.

Refering to Friday as a wrong direction. A sense of awareness comes when people walk in a backward direction under the columns they recently walked on top of. While people below are able to see people above, those above are not able to do so.

Refering to Tuesday as a day in the skies. A sense of supremacy and power is achieved through the raised columns along which a person walks.

Refering to Saturday as an emergence of humany. A sense of enlightenment and understanding is achieved through a curcular chaped room where people are exposed to a large amount of light. Being together, each person is illuminated and shown to the others.

Refering to Wednesday as a disconncetion appeared. A feeling of confusion and inhibition is achieved by an unpredictable obstacle in the form of the wall. People must go against their instincts and change their tragectory, choosing the path to the right or to the left.

Refering to Sunday as an act of celebration. Here at the end humanity and unity are celebrated by nature and piece and their importance in our lives.

Refering to Thursday as a collapse. A feeling of fear and loss is achieved through the absence of light and narrowing space. People are forced to go down a chosen corridor. The corridors are identical.
