Dear Patrons, On behalf of our Board of Directors I wish to welcome you to our 25th Anniversary Season! 25 years ago, we debuted, with John Pielmeir’s drama, “Agnes of God,” right on this very stage! It has been an amazing 25 years of theatre and we have you to thank for our continued success! Your support is what keeps us going! Tonight we present a dark but humorous tale, Stephen Sondheim’s, “Sweeney Todd”. We have a fabulous cast and crew and we truly hope you will enjoy this awesome production! We also invite you to join us on Dec. 8 & 9 as we celebrate the holidays, with our first Christmas Musical Review!

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST & CREW Brett Mallard, (Sweeney Todd) is an award winning Actor and Director with over with over 40 years in live theatre. Sweeney Todd was his first professional leading role 19 years ago at Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth NH and it has been a dream to be able to bring this character back to life on stage one more time. Thanks to John Buzzell and the entire Pentucket Players family for making me feel so welcomed.

Brett is also a host and producer of an internationally syndicated blues radio program called “Blow Me Away” Blues with Brett Bertolucci. Check the show out at www.blowmeaway.org.

Penny Kohut, (Mrs. Lovett) moved back to the Merrimack Valley last summer after spending several years in Wilmington, North Carolina where she performed in various venues. Last fall she played the role of Berthe in Winnmere Family Theater’s production of “Pippin” and is happy to be performing again with Pentucket Players after playing Fanny Brice in their production of “Funny Girl” more years ago than she wants to admit! She thanks her husband Steve who is amazing in every way and also thanks John B., John E and everyone in the cast and on the production team for many things but especially for helping her with her diet since she will never eat pie again!

Paul Gymziak, ( Anthony Hope) This is Paul’s second appearance with Pentucket Players, after he stopped the show last summer as the Emcee in “Cabaret”! He is thrilled to be back as Anthony in our prodution of “Sweeney Todd” Paul has also appeared this year as Seymour in “Little Shop of Horrors”, Jesus in “Godspell,” Ralph in “Reefer Madness” and Horton the elephant in “Suessical.” He wishes to thank all of his friends and family their support. To the Cast and Crew “Break legs guys! You are all amazing!”

Sophia Barbato, (Johanna) is a Junior at North Andover High School where she sings with the Treble Choir and the Concert Choir. Over the summer, Sophia studied Vocal Performance at the Boston Conservatory.

She has been doing musical theater since the age of 6 and plans to major in it in college. Sophia is so excited to be back with the Pentucket Players after 8 years! Her last show with the group was ‘Annie’ where she played an orphan. Sophia is so happy to be a part of ‘Sweeney Todd’ and is thrilled to be working with this amazing cast! She hopes you will enjoy the show!

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST & CREW Jack Girardi, (Tobias Flagg) This is Jack’s first show with Pentucket Players and he is so grateful for the wonderful connections that he has made!

This is also Jack’s first musical role since transitioning from female to male a year ago! He is super pumped to be back in theater with a whole new voice! His past pre-transition roles included Cinderella from “Into the Woods,” Kristine from “A Chorus Line”, Emily from “Our Town”, and Little Sally from “Urinetown”. Jack is honored to be playing the amazing role of Tobias! He would like to thank his beautiful wife Ashley for always being so supportive and all of his wonderful new and old friends! Break legs!

Rob Charette, (Judge Turpin) Rob is excited to again play the villain role.

Past shows with Pentucket Players include; “Les Miserables”, “Hello Dolly”, “Jekyll and Hyde” (Stride),” Joseph…” (Ruben), “Anything Goes” (Captain), “Mame”, (Woolsey) and “Jesus Christ, Superstar”. Other performances with Voices of Distinction, Stage 284, Titanic (Astor). Broadway Stroll 1,2 and 3 where in 2016 the group traveled and performed in Medellin.

Colombia. Rob also serves on Pentucket’s Board of Directors and volunteers on the set building crew. Rob lives in Methuen and works for Andover DPW. He gives a special thank you to his wife Carol, family and friends for their continued support.

Evan Denmark, (The Beadle) is beyond thrilled to be performing in his fourth show with Pentucket players as the Beadle. He has sung a diverse portfolio of roles including the Bishop in “ Les Miserables”, the Tin Man in “Wizard of Oz”, Annas the priest in “Jesus Christ Superstar” and even Gilbert and Sullivan mixed in as the Major General in “Pirates of Penzance”. Along with performing in musicals Evan is active as a voice instructor in his North Andover studio and as Front Man with Soul Syndication, a Funk/R&B and Soul music project. Evan would like to thank John Buzzell and Pentucket Players for allowing him to be part of a wonderful musical family and the opportunity to perform in my all-time favorite show.

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST & CREW Eileen Lorenco, (Beggar Woman), Eileen fell in love with musical theater from an early age, often spending hours in the basement singing along to‘South Pacific’ and ‘The King and I’. She has performed with Marblehead Little Theatre, The Wakefield Repertory and The Garrett Players and has sung professionally for weddings and funerals. In 1985 she discovered The Acting Company and Director John Buzzell where she had the good fortune to be given leading roles in a number of musicals such as ‘Camelot’, ‘Guys and Dolls’, and ‘Brigadoon’. Her fondest memory is of playing Maria in ‘The Sound of Music’ with her 9 year old daughter, Diana.

Eileen resides in Andover with her husband Peter. She is thrilled to be back in musical theater performing with The Pentucket Players and with John Buzzell again! She dedicates her performance to Peter and all the grandkids: Dylan, Forest, Harrison, Atticus, Teagan, Felix, and Liana.

Cory Cocchiaro, (Pirelli/ Ensemble) currently lives in Haverhill, and was born in Lawrence. This is Cory’s second appearance with Pentucket Players, having previously played Bobby in “Cabaret.” Cory studied theater at Northern Essex in Haverhill, and has mainly worked with the now disbanded Ghostlight Theater Company for 13 years. Some favorite roles include Rosencrantz from “Rosenrantz and Guildenstern are Dead”, Pozzo from “Waiting for Godot”, Simon ‘Sickboy’ Wilkinson from “Trainspotting” and Frenchy the Fur Trapper from “Cannibal! The Musical” Cory is currently training to be a voice over actor and is very grateful to be back on stage!

Dan Merriman, (Jonas Fogg/ Ensemble) is pleased to be making his Pentucket Players debut with such a talented cast and crew! This past Spring he played ‘Lumiere’ in “Beauty and the Beast” with Actor’s Inc. He won Best Actor at the AACT NE Regional Theatre Festival in 2015 and is a 4 time NH Theatre Award top 3 finalist. Dan sends many thanks to his family and friends for all the love and support. He also sends a ‘shout out’ to all the unsung heroes working behind the scenes, and to YOU for supporting local theatre! :-)

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST & CREW Patrick Oteri, (Bird Seller/Ensemble) is a member of our Board of Directors and was last seen in our production of “Cabaret”; he has also appeared in “Mame”; “Chicago”;“Mary Poppins”; “Anything Goes”; “Joseph…” and his debut with Pentucket Players was in “Spamalot”.

Most recently, Patricks appeared in the Leonard Bernstein Anniversary Celebration of “West Side Story” performed at Lawrence high school. He lives in Merrimac and is proud to work with his wife Ellen who is the prop mistress for this show. Patrick is also the Asst. Set Designer and works extensively with the set-building crew.

Chris Albrecht (Ensemble) received his BA in Music Education and Conducting from The College of New Jersey. He currently works as a technical project manager for Pearson Education in Boston. Chris has been a soloist for many choral groups throughout his career and favorite theater credits include: Hajj “The Poet” (Kismet), Mary Sunshine (Chicago), Juan Peron (Evita), Tony (West Side Story), Schaunard (La Boheme), Dr Falke (Die Fledermaus), Judas (Godspell). This is Chris’ first performance with the Pentucket Players and is excited to be joining the cast for this fantastic show.

Julia Arey (Ensemble) is joining Pentucket Players for the first time with this production of Sweeney Todd! She received her BA in Theatre Arts with an option in Music Theatre Performance and a minor in Dance from Plymouth State University. She currently works for the Lextended Day Program in Lexington as an after-school group leader. Favorite credits include: Chimney Sweep/Featured Dancer (Mary Poppins), Cookie Cusack (Rumors), Grandma Rosie (The Wedding Singer), Maria Delgado/ Dance Captain (9 to 5 The Musical). Julia thanks her family and friends for their endless love and support!

Christopher Barker, (Ensemble) Chris Barker is thrilled to be working with the amazingly talented cast, crew, and directors of Pentucket Players.

When not memorizing his lines for Sweeney Todd, Chris teaches math at The Fenn School in Concord, MA and provides private math tutoring support for students in his hometown of North Andover and the surrounding communities. He wishes to thank his family for their love and support. And he dedicates his first ever mainstage performance to his son, the “real” Benjamin Barker of West Winona Street, from whom he draws immense inspiration.

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST & CREW Katrina Bradley, (Ensemble) is a mechanical engineer and currently lives in Worcester MA with a roommate, two cats, and a small dog. It’s been awhile since she has worked on a production, and even longer since she has performed, but she’s very excited to jump right back in. Previously, she has worked with WPI’s VOX and Masque, as well as other various choruses and vocal performance groups. Her favorite shows that she’s worked on in the past were “Jekyll & Hyde” and “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” She looks forward to an amazing show with the Pentucket Players, and hopefully many more to come!

Anne Louise Breslin, (Ensemble) Annie is appearing in her 2nd production of “Sweeney Todd”, last time with the Lynnfield Spotlighters, and her 26th production with Pentucket Players. Annie appeared as the Mother Superior in Pentucket’s very first production of “Agnes of God” in 1993. Her favorite musical roles include Marion Thayer and Ida Straus in “Titanic”, Sister Margaretta in” The Sound of Music”, and Domina in” A Funny Thing Hapenened on the Way to the Forum,” all with Pentucket Players, and Lady Alice More In “A Man for all Seasons” with St. John’s Seminary, Brighton MA. Annie wishes to thank Michael, M.P. and Kris for supporting her theatrical endeavors. Mom, thank you for introducing me to musical theater! Happy 25th Pentucket Players!!!

Dori Bush, (Ensemble) is super excited to be in “Sweeney Todd” with this amazing company. She is from Newton, NH. Currently while auditioning for colleges, she works at The Rockingham County Nursing Home. Some of her recent roles include Titania in “A Midsummer Nights Dream” The Leading Player in “Pippin” and Maureen Johnson in “RENT.” She wants to thank her parents and her closest friends for always sticking by her.

Kellyn Campbell, (Ensemble) is beyond excited to be returning to the stage for the first time since college in the Pentucket Players’ “Sweeney Todd”! Kellyn lives in Boston and works as a public accountant, where she hones her theatrical skills while singing in the car during her commute.

Kellyn would like to thank her family, friends, co-workers, and fellow cast members for their support, especially John M. for convincing her to audition and John B. for casting her! Kellyn is thrilled for her first production with the Pentucket Players and hopes it is the first of many more!

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST & CREW Cait Cole, (Ensemble) is ecstatic to be making her Massachusetts theatre debut in one of her favorite musicals! She moved to Haverhill last February after living in New Hampshire for half of her life. Cait is the music director for the drama club at her alma mater, Manchester Central High School, where she also runs a glee club, teaches private piano and voice lessons, and sometimes music directs for community theatres. Past favorite roles include Baker’s Wife in” Into the Woods”, Beggar Woman in “Sweeney Todd”, and Soloist/Ensemble in “Elegies for Angels, Punks, and Raging Queens”. She would like to thank her friends, family, and Fagin for encouraging her to get back on stage. This, and every performance is dedicated to her theatre angels, J.N., T.M., and D.B. Kathy DeNicola, (Ensemble) Kathy has been a longtime member of Pentucket Players and has performed in many shows. She was not going to do this show as she considered it too dark, but fell in love with the music! She is happy to be performing with so many new members. She sends a special thank you to friends and family that offer their support.

Chelsea Detolleneare, (Ensemble) is an Assistant Teacher at Wonders Years in Derry, NH. This is her first production with Pentucket Players ,but she has been on stage since she was a child. Chelsea has a B.A. in Theater and Drama and spent a summer in New York City at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.

Cam Mulcahy, (Ensemble) resides in Groveland, Ma; and is beyond ecstatic to be performing with Pentucket Players in “Sweeney Todd”. He has previously performed with Center Stage Theatre Company as Lucas Bieneke in “The Addams Family” and the Tinman in “The Wizard of Oz”.

Cam has also performed with Pentucket High School Theatre as Prince Eric in “The Little Mermaid” and Joe Hardy in “Damn Yankees”. He would like to thank his friends and family for all the great support!

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST & CREW William Donelan, (Ensemble) is pleased to return to musical theater with The Pentucket Players. A native of Boston, he has lived in Andover for more than 30 years. He has performed in more than a dozen musical plays. He has sung as a member and soloist with Boston area choruses, including New England Classical Singers, Coro Allegro and The Spectrum Singers. In 2015, he gave a ‘Lieder ‘ recital in North Andover that included Gustav Mahler’s ‘Kindertotenlieder .’ Bill and pianist Terri Kelley formed the duo ‘Singular ‘ in 2017, and have since performed for public and private gatherings in the Merrimack Valley, including concerts for the Friends of the Andover and Lawrence Libraries, and Edgewood Retirement Community.

Kayla Fernekees, (Ensemble) is thrilled to be making her Pentucket Players debut in “Sweeney Todd”Once a musical theatre major and avid performer, she is currently a middle school theatre teacher by day, and improv actor in the New England chapter of the “Murder Mystery Company”. Kayla has a BA in Theatre from Plymouth State University (‘15), and since graduating has stage managed for companies including Jean’s Playhouse in Lincoln NH, Fresh Ink in Boston MA, and Arizona Broadway Theatre in Peoria Arizona. She also spent 3 years on the national tour of “A Christmas Carol” as stage manager and choreographer with Per Severance Productions. Although choreography, stage management, and authoring plays have been her bread and butter the past few years, Kayla’s heart lies in performing. She could not ask for a better re-introduction to the stage than with this incredible company.

Jenn Jata, (Ensemble) is excited to be performing with Pentucket Players in “Sweeney Todd.” Jen resides in Haverhill and works at Salem Co-operative Bank in Methuen. Jen was in the ensemble of “Jesus Christ Superstar” this past spring with Pentucket Players. Jen is performing onstage with her son, Trey, who is also in the cast of “Sweeney Todd!”

Jenn is also responsible for creating the make-up design for our production! She would like to thank her family and friends for their continued support.

Trey Lynch, (Ensemble) is happy to be performing with Pentucket Players in “Sweeney Todd.” Trey lives in Haverhill and is in the 6th grade. Trey’s previous performances include Guard 1 in “Aladdin Jr.” with his school, and Tiny Tim in Haverhill High School’s “A Christmas Carol” for 3 years. He would like to dedicate his performance to his parents and grandparents.

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST & CREW Joyce Jimenez, (Ensemble) lives in Lawrence, where she is a bellydancing mermaid! (She is also a Nurse on the side!) Joyce appeared in our production of “Jesus Christ Superstar”, last spring. She has also worked in different comedy clubs. Joyce is thrilled to part of the “Sweeney Todd” ensemble and wishes to dedicate her performance to her, “always supportive” boyfriend, Patrick!

Patrick Kairis, (Ensemble), “Sweeney Todd” marks Patrick’s debut with Pentucket Players. In tonight’s production, Patrick can be seen as the “fresh supplies” that arrive in Mr. Todd’s Barber Shop at the top of Act Two. Patrick hails from Berlin NH, where he is employed as a cook.

Patrick has appeared in Halloween “Horror-fests.” Patrick dedicates his performance to his mystical mermaid :-)

Alyson LaBrecque, (Ensemble) is excited to be in Pentucket Players’ production of “Sweeney Todd”. She lives in Hampstead, New Hampshire and attends Pinkerton Academy. Alyson’s first show with Pentucket was “Jesus Christ, Superstar” last Spring. She also appeared in “School of Rock”, and “Music Man”. Alyson looks forward to many more Pentucket Players productions! She is grateful for the support of her family and friends.

Ava Membreno, (Ensemble) is so excited to be part of the Pentucket Players in “Sweeney Todd”. Ava resides in Methuen where she attends full time junior high school at the Tenney Grammar School. She is part of the Chorus at school and loves to sing and dance all over the house! She thanks her mom and dad for being so supportive of what she has done.

She also would like to thank her little sister Anya for her support, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST & CREW Annmarie Morse, (Ensemble) resides in Pelham, NH.She had lived in Greensboro, NC for twenty years where she entertained in Nursing Homes and Retirement Communities and was also a member of Piedmont Classical Guitar Society. Upon her return to the Merrimack Valley, she sang with the Italian Serenaders of Haverhill. She is also a member of the Methuen Senior Center’s Happy Hearts Chorus.

“Sweeney Todd” marks Annmarie’s musical theatre debut ! She would like to thank her family and friends, especially Virginia Szmyt and Tony Cerra for their support and encouragement with a special dedication to my mom, Josephine Petteruti.

Virginia Szmyt, (Ensemble) appeared in last summer’s production of “Cabaret” as Fraulein Schneider . Virginia lives in Methuen and at one time sang with the Italian Serenaders. She joined Pentucket Players last season and appeared in “Jesus Christ, Superstar’ as well as “Cabaret”.

Virginia joined the Board of Directors for Pentucket Players and says she is “ Having the time of her life!” She states that she has been blessed with a loving family and friends. Though Virginia finds performing challenging, she also feels greatly rewarded by her successes. She wishes to thank the “Sweeney Todd” production staff for their help and encouragement!

Joel Seger, (Costumer) is thrilled to be back for the start of his second season with Pentucket Players. Past PP shows include “ Mame,”” Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Cabaret.” (For which Joel also created the Chroeography! When he’s not working on Pentucket shows, he can be found producing, directing , choreographing and designing shows for many companies. He thanks John, Robert, the cast and crew for another wonderful show. Much love to his wife, Christine, for dealing with his crazy schedule.....Always and Forever.

Ellen Oteri, (Property Mistress) has been the prop mistress for the last 7 main stage shows and 5 summer productions. She is also a proud member of the Board of Directors for Pentucket Players Inc. She lives in Merrimac with her two sons, Daniel and P.J. and her husband Patrick, who is also appearing in “Sweeney Todd”.

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST & CREW John R. Buzzell, (Excutive Artistic Director) - John is the co-founder and Executive Artistic Director for Pentucket Players Inc. He has been directing productions since the late 1970’s. John is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theatre, (EMACT). He has directed productions throughout Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. He wishes to thank Robert, Pentucket’s Board of Directors, the cast and crew, and especially the “Sweeney Todd’ Production Staff for their hard work & commitment to this project! “Happy 25 Years to Pentucket Players Inc!” John Eldridge (Music Director, Conductor) is honored to be returning to the podium for his eleventh production with the Pentucket Players, having previously music directed and conducted “Cabaret”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Mame”, “Company”, “Anything Goes”, “Joseph...

Dreamcoat”, “Chicago”, “Jekyll & Hyde”, “Mary Poppins”, and “Hello, Dolly”. John is a pianist, conductor, and theater music director who also owns and operates a private studio offering instruction in piano and voice in addition to freelance services as a vocal coach, keyboard programmer, arranger, and orchestrator. John has performed as a pianist, percussionist, and vocalist with orchestras, wind ensembles, jazz bands, and choruses across the United States, Canada, England, Scotland, and Japan. As of January, he is also a new dad! John lives in Chelmsford with his wife (Shannon) and son (Benjamin). www.johneldridgemusic.com.

David Bilodeau, ( Set design/construction) An award winning set designer for “Three On A Bench” and a DASH award nominee, David really enjoyedthe challenge of creating the set for Sweeney Todd, especially the revolving stage and Sweeney’s special barber chair. He is very grateful for the expert welding assistance from Dan Chabot of Manchester Community College and the set construction assistance from the “usual suspects” of Wick, Rob, Terry, Patrick, and newcomers Chris and Julia. He also enjoyed working with scenic artist, Ashley Kelly for the first time. This is David’s 9th show with Pentucket. He has been seen on stage as Brother Dan in Joseph, Bishop Henry T. Dobson in Anything Goes, and was the hands-down polka dance champion along with Angelica Jeffreys in Hello Dolly. He is now relegated to a walk-on role for the matinees. As always, David appreciates the love and support of his wife, Laura.

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST & CREW Ashley Kelley, (Scenic Artist), Ashley has performed on stage with Pentucket Players since she was 8 years old but this will be her first time behind the scenes as Scenic Artist. Ashley appeared in last summer’s production of “Cabaret” at Bradford Country Club. Ashley considers herself to be a ferocious autodidact and multi-potentialite, dabbling In painting, sewing, embroidery, dancing, acting, and the ultimate labor of love, raising her sweet little Lyla.

Risa Kapp Annicchiarico, (Assistant Music Dir./Rehearsal Pianist) Risa is a Music Educator in the City of Haverhill Public School System. In addition to her work on tonight’s production of “Sweeney Todd”; Risa has also worked with Haverhill High’s productions of “Mary Poppins” and “Edwin Drood.” Risa will be the Music Director for Pentucket Players’ upcoming Christmas Musical Review! She is currently starring as the newly wed, Mrs. Joseph Annacharicco; a role she adores playing! Pentucket Players is thrilled to welcome Risa, and hope she returns for many more productions!

Wayne Ward, (Associate Music Dir./Rehearsal/Performance Keyboardist) is a 43-year member of the faculty of Berklee College of Music in Boston, is a graduate of Tufts University and The Eastman School of Music, He also attended Harvard Graduate School of Education. Wayne has more than 50 years of musical theater and opera experience as music director, conductor, pianist, and actor,. He was a resident music director at Turtle Lane Playhouse/ Newton for 30 years and music director and assistant music director for Longwood Opera Co/ Needham for 25 years, He is currently Minister of Music at Union Church/Hopedale, and is the accompanist for The Greater Milford Community Chorus and The New England Tenors.

Mike McTeague; (Sound & Light Design): Mike’s first solo show with Pentucket was Titanic in 2000. Mike has received several nominations for best lighting and best sound with Pentucket. Mike has worked with many local theaters including QP, Acting Out, Lexington Players, Colonial Chorus, Acme, AFD, Burlington Players, Concord Players, Winton Club and the Arlekin Players Theatre.
