Vacanza - Holiday Cottage Micronation

This projects intend was to design a retreat space for a resort pool located in Menemkulam , Kazhaku�am . This poolhouse project is a great way to add value to a pool while also providing a place to entertain small events. The poolhouse features a kitchen, bathroom, and living area, making it the perfect place to host a party or spend a day relaxing by the pool.

Cabana; the pool house looks over the beach providing large vistas to the sea. The pool house is designed in a triangular form, contrasting to the other existing buildings present, that brings the visitors interest to the struc ture.

The poolhouse o ers intermediate levels and a high pitched roof that looks like a sandcastle in sand.

The poolhouse has an outer seating space, kitchenette, living space, a resting view point on the intermediate levels, a shower and toilet.

This pavillion depicts evolution of womens journey through time, from a low time to a phase of empower ment. A person visiting the pavillion should experience the history through which a women has come through in order to achieve freedom . The reception is made double height to give the visitors a welcoming feel. A cramped walkway is provided to symbolise the struggles and desolate state of women during that phase. A mid- transitional pathway to symbolise the changing phases of women’s struggle.Jali parametric walls has been provided to symbolise a ray of light in their lives.The double height space exhibition space sym bolises freedom achieved by women after long years of struggles.

Amenities are zoned in the ground floor intermediate level of the apartment complex and at the topmost level of the complex

The apartment units are vertically zoned to utilize the views from the site and in a way that the spaces are ensured ventilation and lighting

The vertical zoning has tried to incorporate concept by massing vertical garden to the units

The challenge of the project is to work out a sensible design approach in understanding the complexity of the project requirements which is to design a residential apartments for residents with di erent requirements: amenities such as swimming pool, gym, multipurpose hall and a children's play area.

Due to the state of recent times, the design needs to respond to the current day issues like covid-19. floods, earthquakes. etc. The design should enhance the community living and interaction between the occupants of the proposed project.

The project brief was to plan an arts and craft village in the 36 acre site in varkala. The arts and crafts village aims to bring about the di erent cultures and crafts from around Kerala into a complex that is rich with variety. The planning includes a masterplan for the 36 acre site and many individual unit spaces as part of it. The concept of this project revolves around bring the di erent Kerala heritages under a single complex. The projects include perfor mance areas, tourist accomodations, craft spaces, public and recreational spaces. Spaces are created with a timeline of Kerala, and each space is distinct and shows an architectural style of its era.
